I am afraid to drive too. I don't think you are weird. Public transportation is a lot cheaper anyway.

It may depend on your age ... I was afraid to drive for a year when I first got my license. I didn't drive myself until my boyfriend went away to college and I wanted to drive to school and do other things.

Maybe whoever is teaching you to drive is making you afraid or if you watch the news they are always talking about car accidents .... but of course, they only report the BAD news.

Or you may have a phobia of driving. Try driving with an experienced, calm, optomistic driver in an isolated area.

If the fear persists, you might want to see a psychologist about it.

No, it is not weird i have a lot of friends with licenses that are afraid to drive. So look at it this way at least you don't have a license, and so you really should not be driving anyway, so what the heck.

Well you shouldnt be driving if you do not have a license... Although if you have your permit practice with an adult in an open parking lot and such and work your way up. =)! Everyones nervous to drive at first!

I think it isn't as common as it used to be but one doesn't have to know how to drive. If you have good public transportation available then it really isn't necessary.
