Well i would say that you would not want to be crying all of the time, but crying is really a healthy thing to do. It get out those emotions that you lock up, and it is a good stress release. There is nothing wrong with crying, and more people should be teaching their childern that it is ok to cry. Why hide that emotion, if something is really bothering you that badly, or you are that sad, or have been hurt, then why not cry, there is nothing wrong with it at all.

Occasionaly a good cry is healthy. The burst of emotion triggers release of a hormone that acts as a calmative agent. It releases a lot of tension and pent up anxieties. Constant crying along with a sad affect for several days to a week for no obvious reason would be cause for concern. One should then seek evaluation from a therapist. Crying from grief is normal for most people and should be allowed to run it's course. I used to cry at the end of the work week from the build up of tensions. Boy, did that feel good.

True, crying can signal we're experencing some physical and/or emotional pain that seeks some level of help with. But by the same turn, crying can be a natural mental release of whatever ill emotions led us up to that point.

In effect, crying is akin to emotionally bleeding out the "bad blood" that made us sick; something that is released OUT FROM us. After such time passes, we not only regain our composure, but we also feel blessed release / relief. This is when crying becomes a good thing.

1. In nearly all cultures, crying is seen as a specific act associated with tears trickling down the cheeks and accompanied by characteristic sobbing sounds. Emotional triggers are most often anger and grief, but crying can also be triggered by sadness, joy, fear, humor, frustration, or other strongly-experienced emotions.

You should not be afraid of crying, anytime. It is the way you that emotion can be shown. I don't mean cry at every film you see, but you can cry when happy, sad, surprised etc. I even cried on my wedding day when I was saying my vows.

It's healthy because the pain inside is released from the body system....that's why most times, people feel better after a sob.
