Should they receive a big pat on the back for their untiring efforts to vilify and defame sinful gay relationships?

If you are a Catholic or other Christian who does not support homophobia perhaps you should point this out to your church leaders to see if they care or respond in any way to what you think about this...it might be an enlightening experience.

I guess the way to get rid of civil rights parades some of us find offensive is to grant people equal civil rights, that way you can stop the parades dead.

Paedophilia is another matter again, we don't blame heterosexuality because some paedophiles abuse girl children and neither should we blame homosexuals when paedophiles abuse boys.
However you are right that the Catholic Church seems to be protecting paedophile offenders, whilst defaming and vilifying gays and trying to place the blame there, always a convenient scapegoat perhaps.

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

With love in Christ.

"The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition."

Four types of this form of criminal wickedness can be distinguished in an effort to show you the totality of the whole matter in and orderly way: some sin with themselves alone [masturbation]; some by the hands of others [mutual masturbation]; others between the thighs [interfemoral intercourse]; and finally, others commit the complete act against nature [anal intercourse]." - St. Peter Damian ("The Book Of Gomorrah" 11th century A.D.)

I am a christian and do not support homophobia. Its frankly getting on my last nerve that people think that if you are christian you automatically hate gays. You shoudnt stereotype people. By doing so you are acting just like the christians that DO stereotype gays.

Does this mean the Catholic Church is really trying to make it look like they support homophobia when in reality their own priest's are raping little boys. Their hiding something.......... maybe they should call it the Hypocritical Oath instead of the Hypocratic Oath............

Question to you. Why do they make spectacles of themselves. Flaunting themselves gay right parades and such. Straight don't flaunt. Just live your life as you want. Hate the act not the person.

You mean all of those Christians who are trying to legalize gay marriage? Or all of those Christian homosexuals? Or all of those Christian denominations who openly accept homosexuality? Or did you not know about them?

not sure what you are talking about. yes i am against the act. but not the people. are church lets anyone come. does not mean we agree with there actions. but being gay is not more sinfull then liying or any other sin. and it is not just christians who are against it. a lot of non christians are as well. most people regardless of belief think it is gross to see 2 guys holding hands walking around and kissing. most of my friends and co workers are not christian at all they know i am and respect me for it. however they all are against gays as well. and they think it is sick and gross.

and the Word of God makes it clear that sin is sin

also makes it clear that all sin is equal but one. that is Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.

and as i said i dont support the act or like the act but i love the person themself. and pray that God will show them truth.

THE WORD OF GOD MAKES IT CLEAR THAT SIN IS SIN. NO MATTER WHAT KIND OF NICE WORD WE TRY TO ATTACH TO IT. GOD LOVES THE SINNER BUT NOT THE SIN. WHEN JESUS SAW THE WOMAN AT THE WELL , HE SAID TO HER THAT SHE HAS HAD 5 HUSBANDS AND THAT SHE WAS NOT MARRIED TO THE MAN THAT WAS LIVING WITH NOW. HE SAID GO AND SIN NO MORE! THAT IS STILL HIS WORD FOR ALL PEOPLE. HOMOSEXUALS, ADULTERERS, LIARS, ETC. REPENT! JESUS LOVES YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
