As to why God allows it, I don't have an answer. But I take issue with the phrase "people of god." If 97% of the population proclaims a belief in God, then how could anyone possibly attribute crimes like this to religion? Every religion on earth condemns the type of activity that you just described.

Religious people and the church often did bad things such as torture in history as they thought God wanted them to do it. I am not sure if they were intentionally bad or they thought they were doing good things but their excuse was always because God wanted them to. This however, is not with all religions and you shouldn't criticise religious people for what was done in the past or condemn all religion. I am not an expert but i can tell you that Jehovah Witnesses have never been to war or done things like torture. I am not a Jehovah Witness either but i am looking to go down that route and if you are looking to become religious or not i suggest that you study this religion further. In answer to your other question "why god would allow it," he doesnt. if you are religious it would be a lot easier to have faith in god and you would accept my answer more openly (my faith has increased since studying Jehovah Witness). I am not sure why people blame God for bad things as he is good. If you beleive in God then you should (in my opinion) believe in the devil. I always thank God for the good things and blame the devil for the bad. It works that way with humans so it should work that way with God and the devil. You may have noticed that a lot of religious people have hard lives and this is caused by the devil. If you support God then the devil will hate you and try to make you hate God and most cases nowdays the devil succeeds. I think my answer is quite long so i will stop so i dont bore you. I hope this is helpful and if you would like to speak with me further my msn address is langrish1@hotmail.co.uk

There are and always will be people who do bad things, don't look to religion for help. Don't look to god for help either. Don't be misled by Leon L's comment, the Jehovah's witnesses are guilty of many things including child abuse, I'm not saying they all do it, but there those in this cult including their elders (equivalent to priests or vicars) that have engaged in this, without being removed from office. Google "Silent Lambs". This will provide you with more info than I can. An interesting point to consider, is that one of the past Jehovah's Witness's leaders (Rutherford) was a supporter of the Nazis. To quote "Instead of being against the principles advocated by the government of Germany, we stand squarely for such principles," What does that sound like to you? These people are not really people of God. They pretend they are..they even try to convince themselves that they are..but we must always remember that satan has his own people too..and their job is to do anything they can to stop people from thinking that God is a loving God..that all this is His fault.
satan wants people to hate God and turn them away from Him.
Yes, it is hard to understand why God would allow such things..but if God was to stop every bad thing and make everything ok, then how would anyone know how bad evil is?
God will end all evil like he has tried to do many times..however, this time He will get rid of it forever by destroying every evil thing there is.
What sometimes seems not evil to us is indeed evil to God so we must trust His judgement. That is why we have the Bible, so that we can learn how and why He did things in the past and what His character really is.
God Bless.

Because there is no man living in a cloud. If there was, he should be arrested. How does a god knowingly call pedophiles to the priesthood and never intervene while the lives of thousands of children are being messed up by these disgusting people who preached to us to be righteous? How much more proof do people need to realize that religion is a hoax?

You have spotted it! Many people who profess faith are not really using Jesus etc as a living example of what we should strive to be. I wonder if enforced celibacy is sometimes to blame. Also, evil though it may be, joining the church offers opportunities to perverts. It is reprehensible that the churches have been so lax and uncaring in dealing with such things for so long. To meit offers more proof that they represent false religion.

God doesn't exist, therefore can't do anything about it. Everybody knows the difference between right and wrong. Some people choose to do bad things, but they always have the knowledge of what they have done. They're not going to go to hell, but karma may just bite them on the ***!

Because they, themselves let Satan intervene in their lives. In turn, they think it's a pleasure but their only blinded by what the devil is hiding from them, which is the truth. It's not a pleasure for the recipient. God doesn't let it happen, people let it happen. Just as Adam and Eve had fallen from the graces of God, mortal man, lay person or ministry are subjected to the same temptations. But they are just mortal men. Jesus was the only one to love his Father so much, he was able to give it over to Him with faith and trust. These people need our prayers.

Not convinced that 97% of any population believes in God???... but I agree with the point.

I don't think these are people OF God, but people who USE God.
Disbelievers and aetheists still live by moral and ethical codes, and these codes are similar if not identical to religious codes.

The use of dogma to promote actions outside those codes is problematic, but it is not common or typical.

The people you refer to are usurpers, they do not have any special relationship with God just because they say they do.

They are only those who 'claim' to be people of God. Someone who truly believes in God could never hurt anyone like that.
