How are they entering your house- if its through a cat flap perhaps you could fit a magnetic one, which would mean that only your cat could use it once he was wearing the special collar. If through the door, I understand you can't keep your door closed all the time, keep a squirt water bottle handy, and squirt the cats when they come in- they will soon coe to think of your house and not a very fun place to visit. You can get sprays to repel cats from pet shops and DIY stores which may work sprayed around the door step, alternatively citrus juices can work in a similar way, and are much cheaper.

Cats, especially stray ones, will always try to find a food source, if there's an open door and they've been lucky before then they will return. What could be a good idea is to try some pet repellent which you can get from garden stores, usually used around plants to prevent them being used as toilets, but I can't see why it wouldn't work if you used it on your doorstep.

They may have once lived in that house and don't know that their owners have moved with out them.
If so, you have to make a choice either keep them and make the best of it or contact the past residents of that house and have them come and get the cats.
Good Luck.

Try shutting the door. Cats will get in anywhere, its in their nature. These cats probably belong to one of your neighbours, they are opportunistic. If there is a cat sized space, they check it out. All your windows are an opportunity if open enough to admit an object the size of a cats head.

A size 5 right up the rear end should do the trick. They wont be back in a hurry.

Try putting a scat mat in your doorway. (it's a mat with a light electrical charge to keep animals off furniture). They won't like putting their feet on it.
Just uh, make sure you wear rubber soled shoes

If you're holding the door open for them to get in, I suggest you stop doing that. Also close up or repair any humongous gaping holes in your house.
