I feel like that sometimes too. But it is up to us to find meaning and make things better.

Me too. Try to do some meditation/comtemplation/etc. I agree with setting some goals. Finding a purpose in life can be hard and I can't tell you I've been able to do it.
If you really get down in the dumps(depression), see a doctor. Maybe therapy can help. Otherwise, I'd recommend starting 10 minutes a day just doing sitting meditation. It's very centering. It won't give you a purpose in life, but it will remind you that you don't need to "do" anything all the time. You can just be and it will still be okay.
We live in society that is very action oriented. It's easy to get caught up in that rat race. Something worthwhile is out there for you. I know that's the case because the only ones who are really lost are the ones who've never asked this question. They just plod on without ever thinking about it. Those are the truly sad individuals.

You need to learn to count your blessing for what you already have in your life, this is how you begin to feel contentment, if there is something you have always wanted to achieve, or work towards, then set yourself a realistic goal, and take the steps you need to...to reach where you want to be, and this when achievement will bring a sense of satisfaction, but also contentment....if you keep believing that the grass is always greener on the other side you will never be contented, make the best of what you have on your side of the fence, then and only then will you begin to see progress.

I don't want to preach to you.
But I will say that without God, it is very difficult to have something worthwhile to look forward to in life. With God, even on the most dreary, pointless day, you can find comfort in the fact that God loves you, and that you are destined for Heaven.
I'm not trying to force my opinions on you; you are free to make your own decisions. But when I feel discontent, without a purpose, I am reminded of God's goodness toward me.
If you are willing, I invite you to seek God...not religion, but God Himself. Just ask Him to reveal Himself to you and come into your life. If you are sincere, He will.
And by the way, I am bad at explaining, so check the first link if you want to know more.
The second link may also be helpful.
God bless.

Because you are not taking steps To Do something, you must take some kind of initiative and set some kind of goal. And follow through with it. Take some classes, get a job, find hobbies ex: sport of some kind either do it or watch it. Some kind of collection ex: coins, butterflies etc. Whatever you regret in life God will forgive you and you must forgive yourself. The best of luck to you and God Bless.

I feel like that sometime, and I make the some question to my self. It`s not because I like to be that way,it`s just the way things are. Big expectations could be the reason, but not necessarily. Sometimes it could be frustration for different things, love ,family, work, children, disappointment, etc etc. The remedy is you,you self, try not to let such negative things interfering with your life, react by thinking after all tomorrow is another day.

Maybe you should not overthink such things if they continue to get you down and not provide answers. You have to figure out what gives you inner joy and follow that. In your life you might have to settle for things, like a job, for instance, that you don't love, just to make a living. I could tell you not to do that, but it doesn't always work out that way. I can tell you to find some things that give you joy while you live your life, and only you can figure that out. Plant a garden; get a puppy; wake up early to see a sunrise.

Yes, life without God is like that. God made us and He made us so that we can have a relationship with Him. In the beginning when He created Adam and Eve, He spoke to them and loved to speak to them. Still He loves us. So only when the love is both side, it is complete.
Jesus is the way to God, so follow Jesus teachings, He abled my relationship with God, and I dont feel I am alone/discontent anymore.

Baha'u'llah, the most recent Messenger of the One True God, says:
"Each man has to learn to know his own self and know those things ttaht lead to loftiness or baseness, to shame or honour, to affluence or poverty. After man has realized his own being and become mature, then for him wealth is needed. If this wealth is acquired through a craft and profession, it is approvable and worthy of praise to men of wisdom, especially to those servants who arise to train the world and beautify the souls of nations."
When we do not noticed or if we ignore these divine counsels, we definitely fall into confusion and see no meaning of our own life.
So, the meaning of life does not appear to our mind as a natural thing, but it comes from our proper education and practice of what we consider as worthy for man.
