Okay. Religion is something that is not easily changed.

So why do you spew your 'evidence' or thoughts on how the bible 'contradicts itself' all over Yahoo! Answers?

You get mad at "bible beaters" for shoving religion down your throat. So why do you shove your atheism down their throat?

Athiests: So what if they believe in God? You don't know them, why do you make it your problem?
Religious people: So what if we are infidels? Why do you keep saying "the bible is the only way" and preaching over the internet?

Jesus Christ, I'm atheist, but I'm not rude. (<--I did that intentionally, for all you nit pickers out there)

I know I'm being a little hypocritical (aren't we all?) In using a question to state something. But, do you really have to resort to rudeness ("the bible is toilet paper" or "god is the only way!!!!") to get your point across.
Let's play nice, ya?
Oh, and I really do want to know what's going through your head if you are the person who types those sort of things. Really, it's fascinating.
(Again, I apologize for my spelling or rude generlizations, for all you non-d*ckheaded athiests. I know you're out there...lurking around the Yahoo! Answers network....)

Oh my Goddess, I think I'm in love.

Its not that they're d*ckheads, as you put it, its just that the more vocal ones are fanatical zealots. Just like the bible thumpers are. If you go read the intelligent questions, you'll realise that you'll get intelligent answers most of the time.

Sometimes your going to get the occasional ones that take offense at the world and take it out on here to get some fulfillment they can't otherwise get in their small, petty lives..

Heck, if you think its bad name for what atheists say on here, my beliefs get me alienated by everyone of every religion. I am yet to find a non chaote I haven't offended some way in my beliefs.

Heck, even some of the chaotes hate me for they way I do things..

Not all are d-heads.
It is funny to watch extremists fight it out.
ALL camps of thought have their extremists, why should one
group be allowed extremgists but not the others? All think they
have valid points and the better life path to follow. The issue really lies when one group gets in the face of the other. If you are saying that a group cannot exist without getting in the fact of the other, because that is their premise - well therein lies the source of the conflict.. The instigator really needs a spanking even if they say they cannot exist without instigating. Perhaps we would all be better off in fact, if people could believe what they want but be prohibited by law from instigating a fight/feud/conflict intentionally as it only causes strife, upset, and possibly result in physical harm - war? I would probabally vote for that restriction in freedom being entered into the constitution. After all, it is illegal to yell fire in a crowded theatre... arent we really just talking about the same type of behavior here?

They honestly think they dont push atheism.

I once counted for an hour...there were 217 people saying things like "god doesnt exist" and "dont believe and be smart" for ONE person that actually said "youre going to hell"

They sure get ofended at something they dont believe in!

Thanks for confirming I am not insane. I respect the heck outta you! One of the only atheists that is not being rude or pushy.
I consider you a friend and email me anytime!

Bless you!

Infadel is a term that is only used in Islam.

In Islam, non-believers are to be converted or conquered.

That is not how Christianity operates. Jesus told us to pray for our enemies, to love our neighbors, and to be kind, loving, and forgiving to everyone we meet.

You know, when Jesus was dying on the cross, some people were mocking him, even as the nails were being driven into his wrists, they mocked him. But Jesus prayed to God and he said this:
"Father, forgive them, they don't know what they are doing!"

You see even when he was being killed, Jesus loved and forgave his killers.

You ask why I say the bible is the only way? I never said that - Jesus is the only way. He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except by me"

These are Jesus's own words - that he is the only way to know God.

If you do not believe that, fine, I wish you well, I wish you no harm, but I do hope that one day my Lord will reveal his love to you. But I want you and everyone else to know that there is a God who loves you, who created you to worship him and enjoy him forever. He loves you so much he was born on this earth as a human being and suffered and died for you. I have to tell you that because it changed my life - it is such a wonderful thing to know!

But I can only tell you, it is up to you to reject what I say, or investigate what Jesus taught further.

If you are interested in who Jesus really is, check out the Gospels in the New Testament. God bless you :)

I'm atheist. I have no religion. I don't shove anything down anyones throat. I have better things to do with my time. Everyone has their own opinion, they are free to think what they like. I do have a problem with Christians trying to convert me. I can make my own mind up. If i'm interested in your religion, I know where to find you, I know where to ask. I've had a lot of friends trying to tell me to come to their youth group or come to church.

I'm generalising here, just as you are. There are Christians who don't shove their thoughs into anyone else and Athiests (like me) who don't shove theirs either!

Amen! (I'm joking.)

Seriously, I agree with you. I am by no means atheist, but if someone is athiest it's none of my business. I don't feel it my job or obligation to "turn" them or tell someone they're going to burn in hell. Perhaps I'm not the best the best example anyway, since I'm really not much of an organized religion sort of person and consider myself more "spiritual" than "religious". But it seems to me that basic human decency should tell us that people should be allowed to worship however they like, or NOT, if they chose to do so.

Who knows, maybe we'll infect people with our tolerance. One can hope.

I think you are forgetting the little problem of politicking theists who try to impose their particular religious views and morality upon the rest of us through government legislation, they have no right at all to impose their views on those of us who reject their beliefs, however they have every right to believe whatever nonsense they wish in their own private world.
Those religions who tell their followers how to vote should be swiftly dealt with by removal of tax -free status, it is against the law for religious institutions to engage in politicking whilst holding privileged tax-free status.

Responding to your question to religious people. I'm not trying to preach, just answer the questions as they are asked. I would never talk about God if somebody doesn't want to listen, but I think these questions are invitations to discuss these things. I don't think that is preaching.

Being polite and "respecting their beliefs" got us a big hole in the middle of Manhattan, a dozen state constitutional amendments banning gay marriage, and two generations of home-schooled adults who fully expect Jesus to return within the next fifty years and who are now running things in America (which means they're running the world) -- among many other horrible things.

Screw politeness. Every argument counts; no word should be held back for fear of hurting the feelings of nice people who believe stupid shite.

What for? -- Survival, baby. It's not us or them -- it's them or the world.

Good! I agree 100%. I have no desire whatsover to convert atheists.
Atheists will respond that shoving atheism down our throats is just tit for tat. If that is true, kindly reserve your shoving for those who actually do try to convert you.
