forget about losing "weight" and focus on changing your body composition. for optimum health you want to be at the lower end of the body fat range for your age and gender. if your body fat is under control you will NEVER have a "weight" problem...

Not a good idea. I'm only speaking from experience cutting weight for wrestling, but the outcome will be effectively the same for you as it was for me. The starvation works great to lose weight for a short while and do it quickly, but the weight will come back as soon as you start eating again plus some. Also, the more and more you do it more and more weight is gained and it gets harder to keep the weight off. If you want to lose weight, do it the right way, exercise and a healthy diet. There is no miracle cure to healthy life, don't let yourself be conned into thinking there is an easy way out.

to some extent yes. Everything you eat weighs something, and that weight contributes to your overall weight. If you do not have substantial amounts of food going through your body, then you will also not have substantial amounts of weight going through your body either. Remember that our weight is constantly fluctuating (in ounces more than pounds). this morning you might weigh 150 but if you eat a huge steak dinner you might weigh 153 at the end of the day. If you ate nothing that day and had a large bowel movement (removing the food you ate yesterday), you would probably weigh about 148. Not eating works . . . but is not only unthealthy, its straight up dangerous. Although it is difficult, you can lose weight. A big part of losing weight that is overlooked is WHAT you eat, not HOW MUCH you eat. I garuntee that if you stop eating fats and sugar and only eat Protein, fruits, vegetables, grains, and dairy, your weight would be much lower than it is now. You do eat fats and sugars DONT YOU?! I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but chances are, this is what is partially causing your current weight to be what it is. I know its SO hard to stop eating things that taste good, but you won't be able to lose much weight unless you eat right. So I strongly suggest that you moderate your fatty and sweet intake and increase your intake of healthy foods. Also, exercising consistently will help. Do what you can. Ideally, everyday should include aerobic (that's 20 consecutive minutes) of cardiovascular exercise, but I know it might not be realistic at this point in time for you. That's all you really need to know, so you have the tools to lose weight, but do you have the discipline? GOOD LUCK:)!

Going to extremes actually hurts your chances of keeping the weight off long-term. Just start paying attention to what you eat and how much, while also increasing your physical activity. In general, try to eat more vegetables and less of sugary or starchy foods like pasta and cake. Get into regularly exercising, it doesn't have to be a lot as long as you watch your intake.

Don't starve yourself though. If you do that, not only will you suffer from malnutrition, your metabolism will slow down and you'll actually find it harder to burn calories. Good luck, I know it can be hard to change your habits.

hi miss spor
i think its inportant to have a gaol of losing fat not weight. we need to eat good nutrition to do that. if we dont eat regularly our metabolisum slows down. All we have to do is focus on top quality nutrition and exersie every day.
I know raw food is the best nutriton we can have. probably best to try for the magority of your food to be raw like get most of your carbs from fruit like Opra. maybe have a protien shake in the morning , eat friut though the day maybe two or three times but not much at a time bcos overloding your body with sugar makes acidity in it. but small portions of fruit takes acidity out of the blood. then at night make sure you have some salid with your dinner and some good protien sourse.

Its about choices. I lost 40lbs, now I get more nookey. So does food have more value or does nookey? I didn't starve myself or go with a 'healthy' diet. Its easier to tackle one bad habit than two at the same time. Instead I kept my overeating habits and replaced what I ate. Just like ex-smokers always have to be chewing gum I always had to be eating or drinking. I go thru a gallon of diet pop/sugar-free kool-aid a day, but it works.

If anything starving yourself reverses your efforts. You should focus on eating a more enjoyable and healthier meal plan. Also focusing on excercising. Make goals that you can keep and that wont leave you depressed if you didnt reach them.

starving the body makes it hang on tightly to whatever one DOES eat. It is wiser to eat many, small & healthy meals than just one regualr meal or no meals at all.
