Would you select the gender of your baby, if the procedure to do so was cheap and readily available?

No way. I don't understand the point. Shouldn't we feel blessed that we have a child to begin with, and not worry about the sex of the child?

If nothing else, it could mess up the balance of things. I'm not suggesting that there is an even 50/50 split when it comes to gender in the world (there isn't), but if everyone wanted sons or daughters... then where would we be?

I don't want the responsibility of messing with Fate. There are certain things in life we should not mess with. The comment above about having a girl in a boy's body may sound odd... but cosmically that could occur. Everything we do causes a reaction somewhere in the world.

In 100 years, when everybody is doing it, I'll still choose to be surprised. Good question.

Yes, but then I have to wonder what would be involved, and that makes me think No, to many complications. However, It would be good for those families who have 2/3 children of the same sex, who really want another but a guarantee of different gender.

No. I believe that everything happens for a reason. If I`m meant to have a boy I will and if I`m meant to have a girl I will. I`m not going to decide which gender I want my child to be, because it doesn`t matter. I`ll love my children equally, whether they`re boys or girls.

Yes, I think everyone would. I would like to pick a baby boy. Then the second can be a girl. That way my boy canprotect/ take care of my little girl

yes and no, if there was some sort of genetic deformity that effected only a certain sex (this happens with boys in my friends family) then yes. Otherwise I do not see the need.

No, if it's supposed to be a girl but I choose a boy, then I don't want to have a girl in a boy body

Sure, if it mattered. But I wouldn't do that because the gender wouldn't matter to me.
