Well, looks like he only likes you as a friend. A friend he can talk to about stuff like that because he thinks the relationship is platonic. My advice is to just let it go, if he likes another girl, that's how it is. You shouldn't lose a good friend (assuming he is) out of jealousy.

I think perhaps he likes you friend and that he only thinks of you as his friend because guys wouldnt really tell another girl what they are doing to another girl unless that person is his friend. So perhaps if you really want him that bad, drop him hints that YOU like him, if that dont work then you will just have to talk to him and tell him how you feel.

he is either wanting you for friendship, or ensuring he has a back up if the other girl doesnt put out. why dont you ask him what he intends to do because he is into someone else but still leads you along. good friend or girl friend?

He might be keeping you around in case it doesn't work with her or he wants to talk about her with you. He could also want to make her jealous or play you both. I wouldn't play his game. You deserve better. He's not being nice to your friend either.

or at least find another guy and make him feel lucky(make out, etc) to see if it makes the one you like jealous! ;)
