When it's really cold & windy out, my cheeks, nose, hands, feet, etc, - any exposed skin - gets cold and hurts and I have to cover it. But if I cover my whole body and leave my eyes open, my eyes never hurt from the cold. Why? They can certainly feel; if I stick my finger in my eye it would surely hurt.

Your eyes don't get cold because of nictation. The tears help keep them from freezing, since the body regulates temperature of the fluid and it has a naturally high salinity and lubricity in relation to the eye's surface.

UPDATE: Nicatation - blink: a reflex that closes and opens the eyes rapidly

Anthony gave ya part of the picture here's some more; It takes different types of nerve cells to feel different things much like your taste buds being specialized some taste salt some taste sweet others taste bitter Etc. Since your eye's main job is to see most of it's nerves are devoted to that, so far fewer are devoted to things like feeling cold.
