Yes it would definitely be more peaceful. It would probably also be more interesting. It would read like a really cool soap opera. A real page-turner. Plus some handy housekeeping hints and recipes between chapters to spice it up.

Oppression is relative. Today there are cultures that continue to follow the same traditions of biblical times. It does not make that culture right or wrong. It just makes them different from your own views.
Women honored their men and were pleased to serve their husbands. There was no anger in regards to it. As a matter of fact, more men were oppressed by other men in those days than women.
If you were to assume that the Bible was a written word of God, then it would not have mattered if the Bible was written by men, women, or monkeys. The end result would have been the same.

Someone ought to give a GOOD HARD KNOCK on the teacher's head for giving such a tough question like this to a 14 year-old child and cause her to stay away from the Bible for the rest of her life. This passage requires heavy research on the Mosaic law and customs. She needs good Bible study tools and commentaries. I really wonder why is it so crucial for a 14 year-old to look into this aspect of the Bible? Is this a special course or just one of the extra school curriculum? The teacher is real cruel and mindless! I am one for sure the Bible does not contradicts itself but our understanding. If possible, I will answer further later. By the way, we are no longer living for the old convenant but the new. So the old testament Law do not apply to us but lessons can still be learnt. Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things..."

There would be less talk about rape and more talk about what happens when a woman is raped. Like what they did to the males that did it. Instead of letting them get a way with it.
Look at the Law of Rape
Laws of Rape (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)
If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.
What kind of lunatic would make a rape victim marry her attacker? Answer: God
The bible is full of this.
But this is all not even a good point. women were owned back then. They would not have wrote anything becasue males would not let them.

The men were the visionaries, not the women, number one. Number 2 is that God always appeared and spoke to men, mainly Moses and Aaron.
Men wrote the Bible...and they were not angry. They wrote it exactly as they were told to..but not in English. It's mostly in Hebrew, as Moses was a Hebrew. Translation came as the sacred scrolls were found, and they (archaeologists) have found more scrolls to prove the Bible is accurate.
The men were the superior over women and no, the women were not oppressed, they were happy with their roles in life.

Absolutely. The religions hide the fact that religion/sectarian violence got its big start when God was changed from a woman into a man around then time that Judaism got its start. When God was considered to be a woman, few were killed in the name of God. Ever since mankind learned how to change God's gender, women have been ordered to take a back seat and over 100 million have been victims of religion/sectarian violence And today's male dominant religions have convinced the followers to ignore the continuing genocide in exchange for a place in heaven/paradise.

i would say the same. everyone would eventually have there own views and eventually interpret the Bible to fit there needs. or leave out certain things.
and most christians i know are loving people. some just take it to far to try to save people. but they are doing it because they care and want everyone to be saved.
as far as hate goes. our church sign lets see about 3 months ago was ran over and broke. then within the last week it had house of praise on it someone crossed out the praise and put satan there. so i dont know were you get that christians are the ones who are causing this world to be bad or hate. we teach to love. and not to vandelize.

I know some Christians and tehy are peaceful. I find them to have qualities that contradict with peace, but they don't see these things. What is importnat is that they have something to feel peaceful about just the way the bible is

You must not have read the story in the bible about the woman who drove a tent peg thur a guys temple after she luled him to sleep in her tent. Woman are crule and they are more wicked in the bible then men. Would you want that woman to teach you about peace. Woman are not peaceful. Woman are like a pack of wild dogs. They love to gossip about people and do people harm. Woman try to justify there sin to the point to even murdering there own children in the womb. Woman are not created in God image. Man is. There is a reason woman are not authors in the bible. Man rules over woman because of woman disobedence to Gods instructions in the garden. Yes woman fully understood God instruction. And woman is not the head of her house. Her husband is. Then Christ then God. So the order is God, Christ, Husband, Wife & Children.

How can Christianity be MORE peaceful?
Unless the Messiah comes to earth and gives everyone free clothing and make up, I don't see what more could be done!
