The best foods you can use are the Holistic Blends. Eukanuba is a commercial food and I refuse to feed my dogs that. You want your dog food's first igredient always to be a meat source followed by 3-4 other protein sources. The Holistic Blends do not have by product and do not have the garbage fillers like yellow corn, wheat meal etc. You completely want to stay away from BHT, BHA, and Ethoxyquin. They are carcinogens and are used in a great deal of commercial foods as preservatives. Innova, Raw Instinct Canadae are some of the best Holistic foods. One of the purest and all natural is Life's Abundace and you can only get it on line. If you go to their website the do a comparison of their food against the others, One of their sites is www.dogfoodzone.com

Eukanuba is very good, so is Science diet. However it is best to go with whatever the breeder suggest when you get your dog. Don't forget to supplement the dry dog food with plenty of vegetables and a bit of fruit as well. So many dog foods just contain protien.

I would recommend Eukanuba as a very day dog food, its very similar to Hills but cheaper to feed.
If your dog has a specific medical problem such as food allergy, urinary crystals, kidney disease etc I would suggest Hills prescription, but if you would just like the best for your dog then Eukanuba is the way to go.
OR
Pedigree Advance is also very good. What breed of dog do u have?
Pedigree, Eukanuba and Hills are all premium pet foods so they have a set formula which means every batch is exactly the same where as the foods you buy from supermarket are not a set formula and the protein and fibre source may change from batch to batch increasing the risk of your pet getting a gastrointestinal upset.

Eukanuba is a good, reliable company that makes good dog food, so that's a fine choice. It's hard to find foods that don't have corn gluten meal or meat by-products in it, you'll have to find an ultra-premium brand like Wellness for that (www.omhpet.com)-one that is made from human-grade ingredients instead of animal feed-grade ingredients. For most dogs, that's not necessary. It's the occasional dog with bad allergies that really benefits from the extreme high end food. Personally, I recommend Purina and feed my cats Purina ProPlan indoor cat formula.
FYI: Iams and Eukanuba are the same company, and the "mistreating of animals" is pure Internet bullshit. And nobody "cuts up dogs to look at their insides to see how the food is working"....they do physical exams and blood tests. The ignorance and misinformation out here is mind-boggling.
Since most people buy their dog food at the grocery store and pet supply store, how could vets possibly make personal profit by recommending Iams? Think logically, people. Doesn't your human doctor give you advice about what's healthy to eat? He's not a NUTRITIONIST either, and neither are you....... and FYI: I'm an LVT and nutritionist-on-staff in a 7 doctor practice. And "by-products" are not diseased and cancer-ridden animals, you ninny. By-products are organ meats and the bits and pieces that are too small to be used in human food.

Actually, Eukenuba is crap, as are a lot of commercial dog foods. Since i live in the US i'm not sure of what foods are sold where you live, but a good food should not have ANY corn in it at all, and the first at least 3 ingredients should be some meat. Not a meat by product, but an actual meat, like on my dog's food the ingredients read "chicken, chicken, turkey,..."
Click this link to read more about what should and what shouldn't be in a dog food. You should check out pet stores to look for healthier and better quality dog foods.

eukanuba is not the far worst but it is not the best either.
canidae, solid gold, innova, california natural, dick van pattens formula, wellness, are wonderful dog foods with all natural ingrediants.
people recommend this food because it is recommended by the vet like science diet, but the truth is science diet is a crap food and the reason vets promote this food is they get a profit on what they sell.
vets are not NUTRITIOISTS, they are pet DOCTORS

Eukanuba is a very good product.
They're not fake like Beniful and kibble and bits.
I was told that that's very good for dogs as well.
I recently bought a puppy, and he loves it.

Uhh, Mo-L--news flash: Eukanuba is actually Iams--it is one of their lines of higher protein and higher fat food for certain breeds/dogs.
It's a good base food, but I am not a big fan of kibble anymore. Most kibbles contain beet pulp to make dogs have firmer bowel movements which owners love as they are easier to clean up. Unfortunately, beet pulp also sucks a lot of enzymes out of your dogs system--not good.
If you have to feed kibble, be sure to supplement with veggies and lean meats and some "less dead' grains. This provides a truly balanced diet.
Mixing kibble with horror of horrors, CANNED FOOD, is not balanced. Canned foods are junk in a can--avoid them!
Another way to think about it--though it's "balanced", would you want to eat only Cherrios for the rest of you life?

you are going to get a variety of opinions with this questions. i have a pedigree dobermann and english mastiff. if you are going to be feeding your dog bikkies, then you will find Eukanuba a high price and high quality brand. i feed my dogs Advance by pedigree. when you get your samoyed, if you get one off of a reputable breeder you should be given a dietary guide for your puppy. this will dictate what bikkies are best for that breed or that even fresh may be better. if you have any queries of brand just ask the breeder as most are more than happy to help you out as they only want the best for where they home their puppies. good luck with your new addition when you get one.. my mum has a samoyed, this is her second and she loves the breed!
