I have a friend that I have been seeing for almost a year. He thinks because I like to talk to him all the time and be around him that I'm smothering him. I am the type I love to show him how much I do care by the things I do when I'm with him. I just dont understand I need some advance on what to do.

Some people just like their space. There is such a thing as spending too much time with one person, and maybe he just feels that way. If it's space that he needs, then give him some. Time spent away from each other is just as important as time spent together. He can't miss something that's always there right?

Please read what you wrote then read it again with an open mind. Think about what yo wrote and how it sounds. Is this the type of relationship you want if you are on the other side. My suggestion to you is. First back off a little get some composer and take a deep breath. Now kindly and none confrontive call him leave a message that you would like to sit down and ave a constructive open talk. What I'm trying to say is communication is the key to everything in life. If we can't or don't communicate what do we have or were can we go in life?. Please communicate with him and not accuse of confront him. When we are in a LOVING relationship it's about being on equal ground. Start there and things will fall in placeif there meant to be. Good luck

you can continue to do for him and show you love him, but also give him some space. You dont want to push him away. YOu dont need to constantly be that close to him too. You both can have lives outside the relationship, and not loose love for each other. I dont mean dating others either, just going out with the girls or staying home in a nice bubble bath. So, step back a bit, and you will see he will be happy with that.

There are some people who feel like you are in their space too much if you call them all the time or want to spend a lot of time with them. I don't want to sound mean, but maybe he doesn't think as much as your friendship as you do.

Try this-- as twisted as it sounds, IGNORE him and it will drive him CRAZY!!! Case in point: I went on vacation w/out telling my b.f. and didn't tell him because he never called. I came home to 9 messages on the machine and he called like 30 times! He always made a point to call every day after that. Men LOVE the thrill of the chase. If they know you want them, there's no mystery. Please trust me. Back off.

See I know you feel that way but some people takes it another way. Over time he might even thinks you like him. Hey, just tell him that you care about him and it's nothing like that.

I would suggest to just continue what you are doing or like lower your time in talking with him. up to u tho.
