Every man, woman and child on the whole earth can fit with in a 26 mile dia. circle. and that is over population! Get real. The only threat you have to fear is lack of knowedge and lack of wisdom.
As you like to speak before doing any research that might be a place to start. Imaginations can be cast down by knowedge. And by Wisdom a matter if made known in fullness. The fact is we have vast lands on this earth that are not populated at all. This planet can support much greater life then it holds today. And the truth is we have vast untapped resourses all over the map. Oil may be short in supply at times, Or is it. Oil is a product people make money on. The reason that people hype the oil shortage line is to make money. We have not current shortage of oil. What we have is nations wanting out money so they restrict oil production. The oil is exist in great amounts. And it will for many hundreds of years from today even. So you might want to get educated on the facts and not the hype.

Problem with fundies is that they take the bible literally when it says "be fruitful and multiply". Yes, they probably do know; I honestly do not think they care about overpopulation because they are of the mindset that they're going to be raptured out of here and the Earth will be made new again.

who knows how many people are too many?

surely you are not saying america is overpopulated. its resorces may be mismanaged but there is plenty of food and clothing and shelter for everyone in america, whether it gets distributed to all of them or not.

india and china seem to be overpopulated but without corruption in asia and the proper managing of resources, asia is big and diverse enough that it should be able to sustain itself as well. of course any missionary will tell you that there are places where they can not get the steps started to create a better livestyle for people because of outlaw groups and governments.

so as i see it there is no threat to overpopulation other than those that mankind creates for itself.

Yes they do but gave up trying to overcome other religions ideas of what makes a Man. Only a small handfull of countries tried to control the population rate the rest just keep on having children at the same rate.

They KNOW the threat, they just don't acknowledge it. Overpopulation isn't even recognized until things go critical.

What have you got against "fundies"? Do atheists know the threat of overpopulation? Whether or not one believes in God or follows Jesus Christ has no bearing on overpopulation. One should give thanks to God that their own mother was not worried with overpopulation when she chose to give birth. Hmmm...

It's impressive that there are those who believe that the sanctity of life requires children starve to death.
