Newspapers and other periodicals provide information about current events, social habits, popular styles, etc. Much of the same information also appears in books, but only far after the actual event. Newspapers also provide information to help you plan your day (i.e. do I need to take an umbrella or avoid a certain part of town where streets will be closed) and information on coming events (movies, concerts, etc.)

It is universal truth that newspapers have become part and parcel of modern life. Many a man find it impossible to get along without reading the day's newspapers. Some even find it difficult or simply cannot have their breakfast without perusing the morning's newspaper. The world move so fast, events happen so quickly in every sphere of life that man should keep himself in touch with the latest developments. You get news and information that an editor and his/her staff are willing to stand behind and risk their repurations for. While it still has biases, it's more likely to be true than something off the Internet or something you've just heard.
Newspaper stories are much more detailed than any television news.
Physical newspapers have the advantage over online ones in that when you are turning the pages to get to the stories that interest you, you pass over articles you would never have looked for. The Internet gives you only what you ask for; a newspaper lets you browse.

Since you can get most of the same information on-line, I guess the major advantage to newspapers is you can wrap dead fish heads in them. That's mostly what I use them for.

reading newspapers will feed you informations on the current happenings in your locality and in the world so you wont be innocent and ignorant with the latest!
