It's a mental disorder. Look at all the symptoms those suffering from it display. Delusions, hallucinations, disordered thinking, etc...

Uh, no. Do you really think 99% of the population (probably more than that) is mentally ill?

Religion is neither. I think a lot of people are misled by false religions, but believing that there is something more than what we can see is part of human nature.

Christianity is the one true religion, but I see it as less of a religion and more of a fundamental truth, like the existence of gravity. Research it yourself and you'll see that it is a very rational religion and makes logical, philosophical, and scientific sense.

Religion is not fear, fear is people like you who are so afraid of believing in the wrong thing that they choose not to believe in anything at all.

No.

It's our nature to find some kind of truth, and the best way for us is to use the sources of other faiths, instead of the stagnation in our lives with meaningless relative truths only.

I'm a Buddhist, and Buddhism turns from a religion into a science of mind, but only if your ready.

I think alot of religion is mostly fear combined with guilt combined with a desire to cover up one's faults. People like to put on a show and pretend that they are better than other people... alot of the time religion is just one more way that people oppress others.

Jesus spoke out against the religious leaders who tried to impress other people with their religion and put other people down to make themselves look good. You see what Jesus taught was that we could have a direct relationship with God, and that it wasn't about rules or externals but about truth and joy and love :)

i guess its more a sign of not having enough confidence in one's self, or ability to do certain things that look impossible to finish, or lack of directions to accomplish one's purpose in life, inability to see the solutions to the problem that exist in one's life hence an appeal to a certain superior being to help them or pray to assist oneself, or sometimes when you already have everything its feeling of lack of self accomplishment or self directions, or lack of self contentment to the point of feeling that there must be other things in life aside from what you already accomplish. it more of wanting more of what you don't have than wanting what you have.. more of human selfishness hence it lead to the feeling of hopelessness and then ask for god to help them thru prayers, devotions, etc. etc. so i then can conclude that its neither a mental disorder or fear but rather human selfishness.(what do you think of this answer; its something to analyze about!!)

It is how people are raised, it is also the search for a purpose or reason. For a lot of them it is a way to make money. It is also a way of feeling protected.
