Just prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, it was discovered that people in some of the poorer nations were actually recycling books, including bibles, to use a toilet paper, so there is some truth to the comment.

I read on the Australian Newspaper that some Muslims students use the Bible paper to smoke mariguana. In fact a few weeks ago a Private Muslim School in Melbourne, Australia used the Bible as a toilet paper then other Muslim students pissed the rest of the Bible paper and then they used the Bible as a football. Lots of other Muslim students were laughing and kicking the wet Bible. When a TV reported asked the Private Muslim School why did the students do that the School Principal said that it happen three others times. They could not removed the students who piss on the Bible because their parents threatened to blow up the Private Muslim School.

Toilet paper?

I am an agnostic who doesn't believe in the bible at all, but even I don't have the audacity to call it toilet paper. Although, when I was in high school, I did a roll joint on my bible as a joke, and all my equally faithless friends got a real kick out of it.

The Bible could be used for toilet paper if someone was really desperate etc...but, I do think that since there are people in here who believe in the Bible I would think that most people would want to respect the other person speaking about it.

It is really about respect..having respect for each other as people and their right to believe what they want. Asking questions is good..baiting is not.

The Bible is a book. The words on the pages are the Word of God. If the Word was not on the pages then it would only be toilet paper. So yes in the absence of the Word itself, it is toilet paper.

I never called the Bible toilet paper. I think it was Julia. She likes to be irreverent to get responses. It usually works.

Why should I call it toilet paper when I never used it as a toilet paper? In short, I have never called it "toilet paper".

I agree. I'm athiest, but I try not to do anything more than little 'jabs' here and there at religion. But that's just because I make fun of everone. But pay no mind to the hard-core people. They give us a bad name. They are just insecure and angry, and terribly intolerant. Plus, who's going to be burning in hell? They are! (well, me too) So just smile and turn the other cheek.
It's really sad how intolerant everyone is on this religion issue: on both sides of the fence. Just agree to disagree and stop bitching at each other. For Christ's sake.

It's sad that people feel the need to mock things that are sacred to others, but there is no law against it. I'd simply take it as an indicator of the type of person that they are and treat whatever they have to say accordingly. Its to bad this place doesn't have an ignore button, but its pretty easy to see who to take seriously.

You can disagree with someones ideology and still show them respect.
