Laws regarding it. Inmate reform or lack of. Long term effects on the abused, short term affects on the abused, and something about the need for more awareness. Or you could do a topic about different statistics, girls vs. boys, the estimated number of unreported cases, how it's more likely to go unreported when a boy is the victum. The incidence rate among clergy and other respected members of the community. Warning signs to look for and how to help someone you suspect is being abused.

Research means you are looking for primary (mostly) and secondary sources... And sources have to be credible to be acceptable.
