for the past few days, I have had the typical runny nose, sneezing, stuffed up nose, ect.

Well, you know when you have a stuffed up nose, you sometimes breate through your mouth? Thats how it was for me.

I think I irratated my throat, cause it hurts badly now. Any home remedies or medicine to help with this? I tried the warm tea with honey and lemon juice, and it worked for a couple of minutes, but the soreness came back. its just the sore throat thats really bothering me.

What I do is to take generic Pseudafed to dry up my nose and sinuses. This allows me to breathe through my nose. It also helps with post nasal drip.

The virus that is causing fluid to run out of your nose also causes this fluid to run or drip down the back of your nasal passages into your throat and possibly lungs.

This fluid is loaded with the virus and can cause an infection in your throat and also in your lungs if not stopped. If your throat hurts really bad, I suspect that you have developed a throat infection from this process.

It is important to drink lots of water to help your body heal this infection and it's also important to keep your throat moist. Cough drops are helpful with this and will decrease the pain. Gargling with warm salt water 3 or 4 times a day can also be hepful.

I have also personally found that taking 2 garlic tablets and a multivitamin tablet every day helps to reduce the amount of head colds I get. When I do get a cold I take 2 garlic tablets twice a day.

If the throat pain doesn't go away in a couple of days I would see the doctor as a strep infection is possible.

Mix a small amount of salt and warm water and gurgle it in the back of your throat every hour or so. This will help reduce any inflamation and help naturally purge any sort of infection/irritation you may have.

It must be a viral infection. You have to bear with it. I know one does tend to get irritated. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html
