IT IS CLEARLY MADE UP BY MAN. FOR INSTANCE IT SAYS THERE WAS ADAM AND EVE. THESE IS ACTUAL FACTUAL EVIDENCE THAT WE CAN TOUCH AND SEE TO PROVE OTHER WISE. THE POPE IN 1996 EVEN SAID how science might inspire the Church to seek a new and “correct interpretation of the inspired word.” EXPLAIN HOW YOUR LEADER IS acknowledging THE BIBLE IS OUTDATED AND YET YOU STILL READ IT?

why do you care? live and let live. You have to be christian to feel what it's like. it's changed my life and things just get better. Let us live how we want to live and try finding a hobby or something since you're so concerned what other people are doing. Also the Pope is only part of the catholic church. Other religions are omiting stuff from the Bible. They're now accepting about homosexuality as well as other things. The Pope is to keep order in the Catholic church. Basically he's the head of the church and keeps the rules of christianity among the church and won't conform to society. Just bc society is accepting of things, doesn't mean us Catholics want to go against the Bible. I surely wouldn't want to be a part of a church that is accepting of homosexuality and divorce. Both are adultery and grounds for not inherting the Kingdom.

I believe that Jehovah God inspired men to write the Bible. (2 Tim 3:16) It's kinda how a businessman dictates a letter to his secretary. He himself wrote the letter even though his secretary typed it out for him.

I still read the Bible today because like the scripture I just quoted, it's beneficial for teaching, reproving and setting matters straight. I can go to the Bible and look for advice on any situation that I have to deal with today by learning from the principles inside it.

I firmly believe that Christ is my leader, not the Pope.

That does not mean, however, that I don't believe in science. Science and the Bible actually go hand and hand if you really think about it. Things like the water cycle and even the Earth being round are discussed in the Bible.

Hope this answers your question.

I do not follow the Pope. I do not care what he says. I read the bible because I believe it has been inspired by God. Through prayer and understanding from God and the Holy Spirit, I ask for the knowledge to know what is meant to be used as symbolism and what is to be taken literally.

Yo, dude. Calm down. Everything is interpreted differently over time. Plus, do you really think that you'll change someone's opionion about their FAITH, something so ingrain into them?

What do you have against the bible? Or against religious people? I'm athiest, by the way, and even I say "take a chill pill". You have your beliefs, they have thiers. Don't worry, be happy.

I'm sorry, I have a hard time understanding why someone would try and destroy things that people hold dear. Just because I don't agree with the Quran, doesn't mean I tell everyone that believes it that they're all cracked in the head.

The biggest thing about religion, is faith. By faith, we belive the Bible. By faith, we belive in God, and by faith, we are saved.

Even if, in the end, I am wrong, I will have been given peace during my life.

I read it because it helps me know God better everyday and is REAL in my life. Because of the Bible I'm not worried about Monday even though I don't have a job and don't know where the next job will come from but I have a peace that passes all understanding even not knowing how I'll be able to pay my bills but God will provide and I place my hope in Him.

wow... so angry

there's more to a holy book that just factual evidence. and if you claim that a holy book isn't claimed on factual evidence rather mythological parables, you wouldn't be the first one.
People's religions give them something to believe in and hold on to, because faith, not factual 'touch and see evidence', is what gets people through the toughest and most hopeless situations.

People who know how to read still read a lot of things today and I would say the main reason anyone reads anything is because they feel like it.

Hey I can get it for free, can I get any books for atheists for free? If so I'll read them too. Besides, a lot of it is thought provoking. I even got the Qu'ran for free, and that's next.
