My son wakes up every night between 11.30pm and 12.30am and comes into my bed. He is restless but not fully awake. When I put him back into his bed he wakes up and comes straight back in again - it is so frustrating!!

i would keep putting him back time after time after time and tell him to stay there (tell him before bed time that night too what you are going to do). I would suggest on a day where you can sleep in and have nothing to do... because that will be a tired day... don't think you'll get much sleep until your new routine is established

I don't think that locking your door is a good idea because there could be an emergency, and I don't think you want him to feel like you are shutting him out. With my daughter the same thing happened everynight between 2 and 3 in the morning. I just had to keep putting her back to bed and this lasted awhile, but if you stick to it and don't give in. He most likely is going to throw a fit, but you'll be pleasantly pleased when you wake in the morning with the first full night of sleep.

Lock your door. He will throw a fit at first, but eventually, he will start sleeping in his own bed.

What happens if you're not in bed when he climbs in? I stayed up late a few times and told him I wouldn't go to bed until he was asleep in his. Got my bed back.

lock your door, just like in the answer above, he will throw a fit & a tamper tantrum you may hate it but he will eventually get the point & sleep in his own room throughout the entire night.

Good Luck

Keep returning him to his own bed...of course it is frustrating because YOU are allowing it to be. It takes consistency and patience.
