I am planning to commute from Fairfield, CT to Secaucus, NJ. What is the cheapest and quickest way to do so? How much should I plan to pay for the trains? Can I save by driving partially to a mid-point train station? Do I need to pay parking fees at the train station?
Thanks

I'm sorry, but are you crazy? Secaucus? That's quite a haul (and I thought an hour and a half was a long commute). I'm pretty sure the Cost of Living is lower in Secaucus than in Fairfield, s have you thought of doing a partial commute (just on Monday mornings and Friday evenings, stay the rest in NJ) or moving there?

Just my honest opinion, but you are looking at a fortune in lost time, train and parking fees, and your health. Please explore other options.

Sounds like MetroNorth to Grand Central Station, then PATH over to New Jersey, and then I don't know where after you get over to NJ. Chances are you'll just have to park at the Fairfield station (yes, it costs money) and expect a rather long train ride. I don't think there's any great advantage in driving to, say, New Rochelle or somewhere like that; the train can get down the CT shore faster than you can drive.

look at those hyperlinks. those are countless bus lines that serve the Secaucus, NJ section. look their web pages over intently, and there are telephone numbers that you could call for more effective options.
