each person is different one diet may not work for someone else. You have to find your trouble spots, and where you need to lose weight at the most. But a good rule of thumb. Keep track of that you eat. write it down. You'll be surprised when you look back at it. Also. If you find yourself getting hungry between meals. Try not to get junk food. A lot of work places have vending machines with apples and fruits or salads. And some even have diet shakes. I LOVE ADKINS SHAKES.. Just be more active. You don't have to jog 30 blocks a day. But take the long way. If your in a mall. Don't use the escalators..if possible. Take the stairs. Instead of driving to the corner market. Walk. If it's close. Just little things like that will boost your energy in time. STAY AWAY FROM FAST FOODS WHILE DIETING!!! If you must eat out. Fast food places like McDonald's now have salads and fruit bowls you can buy that are healthy for you. AND DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR WEIGHT!!!! Don't weight yourself at ALL!!!! That discourages you!! Instead. you'll notice that your pants are getting looser..and your shirts are getting bigger. And one day you'll hear someone who knows you say. "ARE YOU LOSING WEIGHT?" And think like a skinny person. Don't think like a fat person. Keep a good mind set. I did all these things I just mentioned here...and I went from 265lbs to 185 in about a year. and I'm still holding it off pretty good. Basically...I went from a size 44 men's pants...to a size 36.

I have struggled with my weight all of my life and am now finally on the way to losing the weight -- I am 50 lbs down with about 50 more to go, and I wish I had done it at your age. You need to realize that to lose, you will have to make a complete lifestyle change. Diets do not work. A good program to do -- if you can afford it and need some extra help -- is weight watchers. Not appealing, necessarily, but very helpful. I haven't done it myself, but I have used a lot of their tips and know people with a lot of success with the program.
The healthy level of weight loss is 1-2lbs a week. You usually will lose more the first week, and then level off. You need to exercise and watch what you eat. Drink lots of water! A food journal is a great way to keep track of what you take in -- 1500 calories a day should be your goal.

My parents loved Atkins- you lose weight really fast, but it consists mainly of eggs and meat, so if you are not an egg person, do not go for Atkins. But they also have prepared meals you can order, and special diet food. South Beach Diet is also really famous. It isn't so restricting, and just like Atkins, you can order special products. You don't just have to diet your food intake, but create a "work out diet" Jenny Craig has special programs that can help, and I am sure any local fitness club will have one too. Monthly fees seem reasonable, and taking group classes may make it easier. If not, you can get a personal trainer, but I think that'll be pricier.
If you do not like fitness clubs, try becoming active in sports, individual and team, so you can become more active, energetic, but still have fun. tennis, swimming, basketball, cycling, skating....they are all open options. Do fifty crunches and 10 push ups before you go to bed, that is what I do!
Try to cut down on the sugars, go for water over sodas. Climb the stairs instead of the elevator. Jog in place. I have heard stretching helps, and it'll increase your flexibility. Just stick to your goal, and I am sure you will lose all that weight in no time! GOOD LUCK....I AM CHEERING YOU ON!

eat high fiber salads with very small amounts of dressing just for flavor, not gobs to drown it. keep sugar intake low, that means no sweets, no bread, no red meat, and very little pasta of any kind. sugar comes from seets, bread red meatpasta, and all kinds of foods. green and uyellow leafy veggies will help yuou shed pounds and inches. but be realistic, losing two to three pounds a momnth is a realistic goal and will not harm you but any starvation diet will! you can eat lots of salad, and it'll fill you up, but you also have to eat other things, but do it in small amounts. eat extra salads during the day to keep your hunger down, and you'll see progress from the first day. just don't over do it. not eating is just as bad as overeating when you try to lose weight.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Don't eat fast or refined foods. Eat non-fat yogurt, lots of fiber and tons of vegetables. Take in less calories than you burn. Don't eat late at night.
