We are four seniors and plan to stay one week in Manhattan first week of June. It's our first visit to New York. Can anyone recommend vegetarian restaurants in a moderate price range?

Zen Palate and Candle, recommended by the two other wizards, are both good restaurants, but if you want to vary your choices, try visiting the site VegDining.com, which has a comprehensive listing of vegetarian restaurants in the area. Here's a link that you may click to get directly to the New York list:

Congratulations for incorporating a healthy lifestyle in your vacation, and opting to visit vegetarian restaurants! I hope that this site is as helpful to you as it was to me. Many of the restaurants listed have also been reviewed by people who have been at these restaurants, so it would be even more useful for you.

I have eaten at Candle 79; it was excellent. It's probably the most expensive restaurant on the list below, but it's still in the moderate range and was well worth it. Many New York restaurants have good vegetarian options, so you may want to consider non-vegetarian restaurants too. There are always lots of vegetarian dishes at Indian, Vietnamese, Japanese and Thai restaurants.
I'm not that familiar with a lot of these restaurants, but I have had the misfortune of having gone to Dojo in the East Village - among the top five filthiest bathrooms I've ever seen (and I live in New York). DO NOT go there!
This link lists most of the vegetarian restaurants in New York, with addresses, reviews, etc. Hope it helps you and I hope you all have a great time!

you may continuously flow to Chinatown, they're waiting to practice massive tables and performance nutrition with and with out meat. via the Brooklyn Bridge is the Bridge Cafe, extremely expensive, yet tremendous nutrition and magnificent nutrition. because it really is an extremely upclass eating position i'm particular they make a vegetable platter. maximum eating places in ny could have a veggie platter as between the options. there is also the Zen Palace, it truly is vegetarian, regardless of the indisputable fact that the nutrition is so solid that meat eaters usually savour ingesting there, Or, you may flow any opposite direction, for giant tables you may attempt Carmine's an extremely good Italian eating position the position the greens can purely get some style of spaghetti and those that devour meat have their decision of in spite of they decide on. there is one contained in the Theater district and one on the better West part contained in the eighty's.

My favorite is Zen Palate. It's always voted one of the best in the city. It's Asian-based vegetarian food. I go to the one at 34 East Union Square (at E. 16th St.) but I know there is one at 663 Ninth Ave. (at 46th St). I always order the same thing, 'Sweet and Sour Sensation' ($9.50). It's a soy protein version of sweet and sour chicken. I love it.

Check the website, it's got the menu, prices, etc..
