Today's non-Catholics fail to understand that the Blessed Virgin Mary represent's God's ideal for non-divine created mankind, and since she perfectly fulfilled the earthly purpose for which God created her, including lending her flesh to Jesus, our redeemer, God has seen fit to allow her to continue working with him from her now exaulted place in heaven.
All the early Protestant reformers understood this, and had a proper reverence for the Mother of God, but widespread anti-Catholic sentiment has resulted in an anti-Mary bias as well, which serves no purpose but Satan's.
Mary remains the most humble servant of God, and as we all know:
Psalms 102:17 (102:18) He hath had regard to the prayer of the humble: and he hath not despised their petition.
That's why Catholics know Mary is powerful in Christ, and that's why the Rosary remains a remarkably effective and practical form of prayer.

Mostly I am skeptical because I believe that repeating the same phrase over and over again trying to atone for my sin, goes against what the Bible says about grace and salvation, and ends up becoming empty words.

Please show me the biblical verse about the Rosary and Mary, mother God, queen of peace, etc.
Roman Catholic Church has made Mary, mother of Jesus, a goddess. This practice has increase under John Paul II.
