i have had braces before....dentists dont normally advice you to remove it once they clean it..but there are dentists also who advice you to take it off coz there are some plaques inserted on your braces which are not visible to other dentists or they just simply ignore them coz they know how hard it is to get it done and clean....other dentists you dont expect to be so concerned of their patients...my dentists adviced me to remove my braces and they cleaned thoroughly my teeth w/ braces beofre and it took around 2 hours before she has perfectly cleaned it... advice, remove...

Coke doesn't cause the stains around the brackets, not brushing properly does. If you have good brushing habits, and remove all of the food and plaque from your teeth when you brush, then you won't have stains.

I had braces a long long time ago. When I had them removed the spot where the braces were was not discolored at all. Plus your dentist will have to polish off the glue there anyway. If you have good brushing habits you should be OK.

When you get your braces removed, the orthodontist should give your teeth a standard cleaning, too. This cleaning will take away any stains, and brighten up your smile. Don't worry about it so much. I had braces for 4 years, and this is what they did when I had mine removed. (And yes.. I drank dark sodas, smoked, and all sorts of things). Your teeth will be just fine.

Well it does not necessary mean that you are going to have stains, brush regularly and try and lay off the coke and go for a healthier option like water or milk and also coke is bad for your skin!=)

You can undergo whitening treatments but they may whiten your teeth as a whole more than the stains. You need to talk to a reputable dentist and ask that question before forking over your money.

It's ok. After the dentist had remove them ask for teeth whitening so the color of your teeth will still be even white.
