Pandits always have theire own knowledge.They can what they have to do .If the family is poor the Pandit donot accept any gift from them.He just accept the things that used in "Pooja".

All accepts gifts on their marriage. All expects gifts on their marriage. You can make gift on any occasion or at all occasions. Better cash gift at the time of marriage. Carrying articles is difficult.

Why not? You may gift on marriage ceremon day or ask him for his choice and right occasion of gift. It is okay in good friends.
