Why? It's much more fun to debate. Although it would be better if we could debate without getting insulting. Verbal abuse is the last resort of a limited intellect, after all.

At first I thought that this was a stupid question, but after reading some of the stupid answers, I believe it's a really good question. Debate is one thing but when some people get really insulting that's a different matter. I have never felt angry in any other category before until this evening when I decided to check this one. I don't think I'll be back because I come on YA for relaxation and all it's been is stress and anger at some of the daft and blasphemous questions on here.

No. The subject matter remains the same, no matter what the individual participants believe. If, for example, I want to ask a question about the history of Buddhism, I don't care what anyone believes, so long as I get my answer.

The section is society and culture.....religion and spirituality. This means that is about religion within the context of our society and culture. As an agnostic who borders on atheism....I have many feelings about the place of religion and spirituality in our society and culture. If you want to make a category for religion and spiritual questions within the context of Church....I won't frequent it.

I think that it would take care of some of the tension, but my guess is that "non-belivers" would just spend all of their time in the "believers" chatroom anyways, just to piss them off. Besides, even if you did have a "believers" section, that could mean anything! You would still have people arguing about religion.
