I'm still waiting for some of these stars to actually DO something worthwhile rather than do it for attention. Example- why couldn't Madonna adopt some 14 year old New York orphan rather than some obscure baby from a third-world country? Or Angelina Jolie, for that matter- her and Brad supposedly love kids. Why do the children have to be babies that come from Asia or Africa when we have enough poor children right here in the U.S. rotting in foster homes? Makes no sense to me.

This is a good question and a valid one. Why do celebrities use their status to influence in one direction, as opposed to directing positive influence and making a huge difference in how society will view life? I would guess that it is all about the $, as usual, and we have to be aware of that. If not, we are slaves to the new and most popular pop stars.
Think about it.

As far as I am concerned, they are looking for answers to questions like you and I. Because they live their lives in the spotlight and are on t.v. and in the movies they are supposed to have answers? NO, they use their CELEBRITY STATUS to FOCUS ATTENTION ON ISSUES. We try find answers together, each and every one, no matter what the occupation, economic status, skin color or gender. We are all in this together.
