age difference?

do you think eight years apart is too big of an age gap? Or could it work?

Age is nothing but a number(only if your legal) in a relationship. My mom is 43 and my dad is 60 and they've been together for 19years and i'm 17.They both have a child each from previous relationships when they went out with those their age and i guess it didnt work. From my moms point of view, I think that older guys are responsible, mature, and financially stable to take care of you as opposed to a young person still striving to get to that state. Its perfectly fine, i couldn't see myself going out with a 34year old but hey anything can happen. It's what you make it.

It all depends on the age of the people. 40 and 32 is common. 30 and 22, is not so common, but I've got no problem with that. 20 and 12 is illegal and perverted.

In any event, an 8 year age gap could make it a little tougher for the couple to relate to each other. But if they really dig each other and can get along well in a legal way, I say go for it.

If you are talking age gap you probably are not in love? If you are over 18 there is no difference of age when you are in love.
Socially eight years is nothing, especially if both people are mature. If one of you is not mature then maybe 8 years maybe more than 8 years, or if you have nothing in common would be more important than the number of years apart you are.

Eight years could work. It doesn't really matter if you can both respect the fact that because of the age difference you might need different things. Then again, age is just a number, what matters is how mature you both are.

There are a lot of things to consider when you ask will it work. It does work, because I know from first hand experience. Mind you I never ever thought it would happen in a million years, and never thought about it. It was a tabu to me. I knew him for many years, he was a nice young man and we had a special friendship. Special as in he would tell me about his dates and I would give him ideas to use, what he could do to cement the relationship. He always joked and would say, come climbing with me..of course I just laughed and sure, and that was all it was, never even thought anymore about it....UNTIL..I found myself suddenly seperated from my husband of 25 yrs. It does'nt hurt that I was only 115 lbs. petite, and good looking. It had to be something in my genes, as I never looked my age. At age 29 I was asked for id at a liquor store. I was mad!! To make a longer story shorter, I ended up having a relationship with this guy, who is 15 yrs younger than me. We have been together for 10 yrs. I am soon to be 56. You figure it out..It is possible.

Eight years age difference is different at different ages, ie: a 24 yr old and a 16 yr old is too big an age difference, a 19 yr old and a 11 yr old is sick, but a 50 and 42 yr old isn't too awefully bad. See it all depends on how old the two people are.

Depends completely on the ages involved.
12 and 20? ILlegal!!
18 and 26? Lopsided .. could work in some cases...
50 and 58? No big deal.

It depends on the age. But if it is to young it will never work because the much younger person will want to see and view different things. Good Luck

When my sister was 25 years old she married a man that was 50 years old. So 8 years isn't that bad. By the way sister is like 12 years older than me and her husband is a few months older than my dad.
