I am nice to everyone. I just talk nice and stick to my word. I am getting married in 7 months, and I mean,... I am attractive, at 5'4. 100 or so lbs. But I don't act interested in other guys. But i constantly get hit on. I even dress conservatively. Jeans, usually two layered shirts, an over jacket, and tennies. And every-day i get obsourd lines from guys, and cat-calls. It hurts my feelings, and I am starting to think i am a prude for being offended. Whats going on?

Some men will hit on any attractive woman, regardless of reciprocated interest. In their minds it's a case of "boys will be boys." They're usually the same guys who carve notches in their bedposts and belts, or otherwise keep track of their conquests.

The best way of handling any kind of unwanted attention is a cool smile, a "please excuse me", and walking away or turning your back. You'll have delivered a well deserved slap in the face while being perfectly ladylike.

Just remember: You're not responsible for someone else's behaviour if you haven't done anything to encourage it.

I completely understand what you are going through- I am engaged and don't even dress up all that much and yet I get the same treatment. I even had some guy ask my age to see if I was 'legal'. You are not prude for being offended!! These men are just looking at you from a purely physical viewpoint and it's degrading! I agree that saying excuse me is appropriate or even nothing at all. I wish you luck!

Desperate guys can be jerks. Guys have actually grabbed me and think I'll actually stop and chat. You're not being a prude. If you're uncomfortable then you should do whatever you can to get out of it.
