I got a severe infection in my leg a year ago. The doctors (and I saw many of them) were never able to diagnose it, but treated me for cellulitis as their best guess. All tests came back negative. The infection is gone, but there is residual swelling in the ankle (around the achilles) and red/white discoloration on my shin. Any ideas on how to treat these remnants of such a horrible infection?

the infewction may hyave been an acid burn. were you using any strong acidic compounds like drano or anything that you could have spilled on your leg? i had done just that. same skin discoloration and infection. spent two weeks in the hospital. but i'm a diabetic so my skin will stay discolored. you can try using vitamin e several times a day for a couple weeks. it may help the skin to get back to original color, but no guarantees. try it a see.
