Well for one thing the 3.8 isnt the best engine. If you want power then get a GT or Cobra. If you want some more HP from the 3.8 it isnt gona be super cheap. on the cheap side improve intake and exhaust helps. but past that bolt ons can only do so much. a step up would be a blower but then its just dumb because its more cost with well not exactly racecar results. the GT is the best alternative most bang for the buck. Try the simple bolt ons but dont expect to make tons more power most it will be seat of the pants kind of thing

Start with the easy stuff.
High flow air filter
high flow exhaust
then work towards the add-on's and computer mods (chips)
NOS will give cheap horse power, but it is limited use. (ideal for the track but not the road)
if you have a belt driven cooling fan, switch to an electric fan.
If you really want to scrape some horse power go to an electric water pump.
The down side to adding electrical parts is that the alt. and battery has to be monitored closely.
Check on higher ratio rockers, but I'm not sure if they are available for the 3.8
Good Luck with it.

the best thing you can do for cheap is get some gears 3.73's or if you dont do alot of highway driving 3.90's, 4.10s are a little too much for v6's but anyways changing the gears will add no power at all but will get you into your powerband WAY faster than your stock gears and this is the most bang for the buck mod you can do it will really wake the car up and will give you better results than all the other bolt ons will.......so go get some gears right now!

Definitely first add a CAI and a catback. 600 bucks for mine from MAC Performance. Then add a chip which is in the works for me. And whatever you do, don't listen to the 6 haters who think v8 is the only way. Us V6'ers save money on insurance, and hello, has anyone noticed the price of gas lately???? Good luck, and have fun with the Stang. I know I sure as hell do.

there are countless recommendations you may flow with on your automobile. a sturdy commence is with the air intake and exhaust. extra perfect an engine breaths extra skill you may make. i'd also change the gearing, grant you with somewhat extra skill of the line and through the gears. Over all with the air intake and exhaust you may benefit round 35 or extra horse, and the equipment will make all of it come alive swifter. right it truly is a cool article about intakes

Start with the basics . cold air intake ,exhuast setup (cat back)
is it auto or manual? if its manual get a short throw shifter (if available for the 3.8) nitrous , and if ur budget can allow a supercharger or turbo.
