A real marriage is an INFORMED, LOVING, and often HEROIC decision between a man and a woman to GIVE THEMSELVES to EACH OTHER for life, that has also been BLESSED and confirmed by God.
The world can thrive on marriages like this.
What you're proposing is something else entirely ... somethng that has little or nothing in common with a real marriage ... and something that is definitely not heroic, or of much real value to anyone.

I agree that Marriage is just a decision between 2 people to live together. But also we should understand our elders and respect them. western thinking and style of dating and living together is fine but then why most of them divorse, think about their children and their future.

marriage involves whole family, friends and relatives.this starts a good social entry for the couple.to make it serious we have rituals.
Dating, yes it is alright only if you understand it properly.
Dating is a process of finding a marriage-partner.it is not joint-living only.
joint-living for what? if it is for raising a family ok. otherwise it is not "living" at all.
the institution of marriage has evolved over a lot of trial and error through centuries. We cannot pass a judgement on it or brush it aside just so easily.

Considering how lightly people take it these days, I think it should be held in high reguard. It's meant to be a bond between two people for a lifetime. Not until you get bored or find someone to sleep with. Marriage is almost a joke these days. I applaud anyone who remains married and takes it seriously.
Personally, I don't see the need for it. It's a hard concept for me to accept for myself. That's just me though.

If you never care for another person enough to make a lifelong commitment, you miss out on a major lesson in life - like, it's not all about YOU. Marriage (rather than just living together) is meant to be one form of lifelong commitment.

Marriage is glorified if it is seen as a sacred act of procreation! Producing good children.

In the Indian religion this is how it is: The parents have to choose a man for their daughter and the man needs to be rich, machure and respectful and he needs to have a very good job . The picture of the man will be sent to the daughter and she will decide if she like him or not. If she does she will marry im if not the parents will find another man for the daughter. :)

The Bible says it's the right thing to do. We're not glorifying it. But it is a holy intuition before God.
