I know I get maternity allowance at 90% of my earnings for nine months (im self employed) then of course child support should pay, what else? I won't get income support as I have earned too much and paid plenty ni contributions in the past hence why I get maternity allowance instead.

I get 90% of my salary as I am a high tax payer! Also I would get maternity allowance even if I were married and my husband was earning it is a simple entitlement, let's face it I have paid thousand in tax.
I have a feeling I get child benefits too and working tax credit if I go below earning £60,000 and then I get 80% of child care cost when going back to work, Im sure that's whats on the website anything else?

You sound like you earn more than enough to support your child if you're in a higher tax bracket. Why are you seeking out the benefits system?
The benefits system is there to help the poor and needy not the rich and greedy.
Although you should get all your basics that your tax has paid for- maternity leave, child benefit etc. They keep changing the benefits system every 5 minutes so I think you'd be better off getting down your local benefits advice centre.

i does no longer construct your hopes up its a lot more durable for human beings like you at the moment that the Torys are in fee. Plus you're not to any extent further considered a unmarried figure till you've gave start. you should get housing benefit on your flat yet you may in common words get it you're also claiming different reward together with JSA or earnings help or some thing. Sorry to assert this yet you're extra perfect off in case you end your activity, as some thing you earn will be deducted out of your benefit besides, and also you're not to any extent further operating adequate hours to qualify for operating tax credit. i'm no longer particular how helpfull it truly is as its been a pair of years considering i develop into out of work, Labour were in fee lower back then. sturdy luck in school, do not provide up.

Log onto the Inland Revenue web site and you should find all the information you need there. Don't worry about what some of the answerers have written, you paid your NI contributions and a higher rate of tax so you are bloody well entitled to anything due to you. Enjoy your pregnancy and good luck.

Man girl, I don't know where you are, but I've never heard of the 90% maternity benefit of your earnings. Where are you (state/province/country)? That makes all the difference in giving a good answer ...
Sorry, don't know about the UK ... all I know is it is VERY socialistic compared to the US, thus no maternity benefits (especially for self-employed) here.

Do you mean in taxes paid back to you at the end of the year.? That's what it sounds like.
The one really good benefit I can think of is you dont have to argue with another parent about what to do with the child ..

It does depend entirely on where you live--
But to tell you truthfully, unless you are a single parent due to the death of the child's father, I cannot imagine why you would be having a baby that the rest of us will need to support through our taxes.
I think that word "entitled" is used much too freely.
