Increase defense budget to 451 Billion a 10.5 % increase for the Pentagon. An additional 210 billion this year and 100 Billion next year to fight these wars and limit spending at home to accommodate these increases.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing a GAO Audit for Iraq. I think there are ways to cut spending in this country. If you gave the soldiers the chance to say what needed to be cut, I bet we could actually reduce the budget 10% instead of raise it 10%.

I would start be eliminating about half the contractors on my FOB, alone. If I could pick 100 individual contractors to send home, I could save the military nearly 10 million dollars.

I'm against it. We've already wasted far too much money in Iraq. Spend as much as we need to take care of our troops and phase them out of there, and to assist the IRAQI government in fixing what we helped break.

What we've already budgeted to the military should take care of Afghanistan. If we need more, raise taxes. If a war is important enough to sacrifice American lives, it's important enough to sacrifice American taxes. Here's an idea! Families with military personal don't have to pay the war tax.

This is not that far out of line. The soldiers still have to be paid, feed and housed for example. This money has to paid regardless. If a helicopter crashes into a tree or gets shot down, it still has to be replaced. Some of this money is going to the Iraqi and Afganistan security forces (both of which are still lacking supplies).
