Well, sometimes what we pray gets answered in the way that we don't like. When we want a YES, sometimes the answer is NO. I have had prayers recently answered with NO. I really asked for a job I wanted and did not get it. But I believe that there is a reason I am not going to work there..He must want me elsewhere.

My family prayed I wasnt convicted also... but I was. Turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me...got my life turned around after that.

G-d does not always make His ways sit easy with our flesh. If He did, there would be no need for faith. Like Hamon in 2 Kings.

We cant have everything going our way. There is a YES or NO answer to every question we ask. So if God chooses to answer us with a NO, well, we need to accept it because He knows what is best for us. He might also answer us with a WAIT AWHILE FOR IT. We need to accept it.

Probably the reason the person's family didnt mention that their prayers were not answered was because it was obvious that it didnt. And also, if the guy had done something that deserved conviction, then why on earth would God let him go just for the fun of it? Besides, for all we know, God might have answered the prayers of the person who was affected by this guy! Think about it....

You're not realistic. A person commits a crime and his family prayed that he doesn't get convicted for it? Oh please! That's not what prayer is for. Trying to get someone out of trouble who chose to cause it for them self is nothing to pray for. And prayer does work! I am not a Christian but I have no problem discussing prayer or any other relevance to religious belief. And if a person prays for a just cause and it's not answered as the want it to be they should KEEP THEIR FAITH!!! That's what prayer is. Ask and ye shall receive.

My prayers never fail. Never. God is not subject to my requests, whatever they may be. I pray and God hears me. I also pray with a mind that He is soverign over every single thing I say, think and do. If I pray for something and it does not happen, that is God's choice, whether the answer is no, or He has other plans for that situation. I have had God act and do more than I can possibly imagine on the petitions I have brought before Him. I have also heard silence in response to other requests. Do I hold Him any less perfect because the reply isn't what I wish when I wish? You can't be serious. He is God, perfect in all His ways, and whatever His ways are, I will not second guess Him.......ever.

Praying is the living relationship we have with God. We can be thankful, ask for stuff, and listen while praying.

God IS NOT a genie. God is always patient and kind. He is never jealous. God is never boastful or conceited. He is never rude or selfish. He does not take offense and is not resentful. God takes no pleasure in other peoples sins and wrong doings, but delights in the truth. He is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

This person got convicted and it's their opportunity to learn how they did wrong and what is good for them and their family. It sounds like the prayers were answered --- everyone just needs to graciously accept the gift and apply the gift.

My prayers are personal, between God and myself. I don't discuss any of them or how they are or aren't answered. Mostly I pray for understanding and for strength to be a better Christian. If I ask God for something I do understand His will will be done.

My prayers may not go my way. That's not a reflection on God and not even necessarily a reflection on me.

If two people play checkers and both pray that they'll win, does that mean God only granted one of them their prayers? It may mean that God just let the better player win.

Prayer is prayer, not a short order menu.

It's hard to accept when God says no or wait. But God does answer. Many years ago Amy Carmichael talked about how when she was a child she prayed for Blue eyes and believed that God would and could do it. She was disappointed when she woke up with brown eyes. But many years later as a missionary in India, she was able to save many children that had been offered to the gods and left to die. Wearing Indian clothes and having brown eyes, she was able to do that by blending in with the natives. She never could have done that with blue eyes and she realized that and thanked God for not answering her prayer the way she wanted.

Prayer is communication with God. Prayer is not a tool to manipulate some power for our own purposes.

By the latter definition that prayer was a failure. Yet the later definition is not Christian nor Biblical.

The Former Definition then the prayer was successful. Maybe not the otucome that they desired. Yet I promise you that their communications connected with God. Sometimes God, says NO.

Why do people not like to talk about when God's says "NO"? Well I assume it is because its frustrating to them. I wish more people would talk about it. I think it would help us understand how God works. But I really dont' know why people don't talk about more often when God says "NO".

God answered their prayers. But it was a no. If your child asks for a handgun, he doesn't stop believing in you when you say no. God knows best. We have to trust that since God knows the future, he will do what is in our best interest. It never hurts to ask, and there are many things that we can sure he will answer with a yes. So never stop praying.

Could it be because we already know that sometimes God's will is not our will and therefore just a reality that we don't get a yes answer to every prayer we pray? God told us to spread the good news, not bad news friend.
