If a "God" created us and we have to "worship" him wont that mean his is egotistic? If a God is all knowing why would we have to woshship him, that makes no sense. If you live a good life he would know, and if have to worship him that would mean his is egotistic correct?

Please don't believe that stuff about what some churches have in their doctrines. For example: Jesus' never said to worship God. He said to love God, and to Love your neighbor as yourself.

I am a self-read Christian. And this is what I believe:

Harmony is harmony, and disharmony is the only sin against God.

If someone gives me a thumbs down, then they have not forgiven me for being honest. but, I forgive them because Jesus said,

"If you do not forgive others, then, your father in Heaven will not forgive you" --- I don't see any choice but to forgive them that disagrees with me.

God doesn't desire worship in the way we often think of it. What he desires is a relationship with the people he created. He could have just made us mindless puppets that praise him and sing him songs with out any real emotion but what good would that be. The kind of worship he wants is the love that a young child has for a good father. I can remember the way I thought of my dad when I was little. I wasn't afraid of anything when he was around because I knew that he could protect me and wouldn't let me be hurt. In my mind he was the strongest, smartest, bravest man alive and I just loved to be around him. I was amazed by everything he did and I wanted to be good just to make him happy. I loved him and I knew that he loved me too. I think that that is the kind of worship that God desires. He isn't an egotist, he is a loving father.

When God created the first Human pair, Adam and Eve, there was no mention of any formal worship. The Bible does not give a reference to worshipping God. Rather, it speaks of God and the first human pair having a friendly relationship. When man sinned and listened to what the devil, by means of a serpent, had to say, they went on to the side of the devil, who wanted worship for himself. So if you look at worship, the devil tried to get people to worship him. Further on even after Adam and Eve, there is still no mention of worshipping God. There were people who were good and those who were bad. God spoke to the good people and was again on a friendly relationship with God. Abraham was also called God's Friend.(James 2:23). The question of worship, or loyalty, came into to force when Satan questioned God's ability to guide His earthly children and when Satan questioned God's right to rule, or God's Soverignty. Being the Creator of all, God obviously deserves our allegiance.

So it's more a case of two sides. One is the side of Satan, the one who started the whole mess. And the other side is God's, where all God is doing is hoping people will be loyal to Him so that as many as possible can be saved when he destroys Satan and his supporters and also to vindicate His sovreignty. God does not ask for formalistic worship. All that He is asking is recorded in the Bible for us in the book of Micah 6:8: "He has told you, O earthling man, what is good. And what is Jehovah asking back from you but to exercise justice and to love kindness and to be modest in walking with your God?"

God is not egotistical. If you had children you would obviously expect them to love and obey you - that is not being egotistical. God expects the same from us, His earthly children. However, as He is not a mortal man, but the Creator of all things, we would need to respect or revere Him. Loving God, observing His principles, and doing what is good are things that are included in worship.

I don't believe if there is a God or Gods that he or they would want to be worshipped. Religion is really only man's way of exerting control over society and keeping it organized. It may have been for the best for some time, though these days it is pretty antiquated. I think that all true appreciation for the world/universe/human life should be expressed in one's daily actions, and not just on a Sunday morning. I think a god would want someone to just be a good person, and that in itself is a way of "worship" by appreciating this wonderful world we have.

If you knew God, the character of God, you would not ask why we would worship Him. You would worship Him naturally, because He is the perfection of every beautiful thing. He is just, merciful, good, kind, generous, forgiving, compassionate. He will, however, measure out consequences to those who turn their back on Him. If you want to find out more about God, look to Jesus. Come to know Him and you will understand how easy it is to worship this God.

This is conditional sentence, therefore it begs a ridiculous answer. Any sentence beginning with "If" is a conditional sentence. You are putting conditions on it. God is unconditional. He can't be put in a conditional box. Sorry. Your own ego has no wish to bow to anyone. Even Emperors must bow to God. Nobody is bigger, nor more powerful. Of all concepts, try to wrap your tiny mind around this. There is someone out there. Someone bigger and stronger and faster than anyone ever conceived. It is only natural for the lesser to bow to the greater. Besides being all that, He's the most beautiful of all. To see His face is to die of joy.

It is Not an ego thing. Worshipping God is keeping our focus on him, and if we lose that focus we will truly be lost as we, are ignorant and powerless while he is perfect all knowing and all powerful.
Also, many may have the wrong idea of what worship is. It's not so much that you fall to your knees repeatedly bowing and crying. It is "God you are great" (and he is) "You are all knowing" "You are the source of life" "You are the greatest of all Gods" "I love you lord" "You are the source from which Love flows" - Things like that, it's not so hard.
This is guidance, recognition and Focus.

Absolutely not. We worship God out of LOVE, not because we have to. He made us for His pleasure...not ours. Jesus died on the Cross for my sins, to make a way for me to be able to come to Him. I worship Him because I love God. He doesn't demand it. He's such a gentleman that He knocks at the door of your heart, He doesn't barge in saying do this, do that. He is love. Love isn't egotistical in any sense of the word.

To know God is to love him and with that love comes our wish to worship him. He is our blessed Savior why wouldn't any christian want to worship him. Knowing the love he has for us. He gave us life and a promise of a better life in heaven it is a pleasure to worship him

No, God has no attachment or ego, but he sees worship as an act of love. While people do worship for material things, it is those who worship for the sake of loving God that He most values.
