There are two projects going on. One, they are expanding the HOV lane (carpool lane) from the Valley to LAX. A southbound carpool lane over the Sepulveda pass opened a few years ago, and now the plan is to add a northbound lane as well. It won't fix the traffic problems, but it should help a little. After all, another lane can only help.

The second project is the improvement of the 101-405 interchange. The improvements are mainly being made to the northbound 405 ramps to the 101. They are widening the ramp going to the southbound 101 from one to two lanes, adding another lane to the 405 north in the process (that lane currently exits to Ventura Blvd). Also, they are making it so that cars getting onto the freeway from Ventura Blvd. no longer have to weave through exiting traffic to get on. That was a major source of congestion in that interchange. These are small changes that again, won't fix the problem, but should help a little bit.

you're screwed any day of the week on the 405 and that i ought to say 6:30 should be the present possibility-free departure time. street routes count number on the position in RB you're starting up from. in case you may make it actual to Crenshaw or Western, those are solid northbound possibilities, then reduce over on Adams to the position it comes as a lot as Washington in Culver city, then to a part street pronounced as Cattaraugus, proper to Robertson (at Hamilton severe) then up Robertson...you may p.c.. your route from there in preserving with the position in BH you artwork. I go back and forth this route from Western & 51st (purely above Slauson) to Beverly & Wilshire daily (40 min). steer away from LaCienega in any respect expenditures, it really is as undesirable because the 405! ,

Your tax dollars at work. They're using some of that Proposition 1B money to add another HOV lane to the 405.

And to make matters worse, our ever-lovin' caltrans dropped a crane on the transition road, injuring one or two people and screwing up traffic for hours.

Can't wait to see the lawsuit on that one.
