If a "God" created us and we have to "worship" him wont that mean his is egotistic? If a God is all knowing why would we have to woshship him, that makes no sense. If you live a good life he would know, and if have to worship him that would mean his is egotistic correct?

We don't have to "worship Him." All we have to do is walk humbly, do things right, and love God. Loving God is an attitude and requires no work on your part. Why Love God? If you can love animals just because you love all living things, then you can also love God because He is also a living thing.
Everybody wants to be lvoed for who they are, and that is not being egotistical. What would be egotisical is to require you to only love one thing and one thing only.
Even if you do not beleive in God, or do not beleive that God does anything for you personally, then simply thank Him for helping those who do beleive in Him. It costs you nothing to do so.
Worship is an organized way of thanking God...but there is no requirement for you to follow any particular way of thanking Him.
Put it this way: it will not hurt you to say it, and, who knows, it might even help.
God is not egotistical because He already knows who he is and does not need anyone else to remind Him.

From the wording of your question I think you want a Patriarchal Christian answer.
Yes something created its self and then created the Souls of all that was and will be from its own body. and then this Physical Universe that we live in now.
Worship not necessarily but acknowledge that our souls within these mortal shells is but a facet of the total of creation YES.
Egotistical God no as mythology shows that all Deities were brash and self centered when they were newly made and young and mellowed with age just like most of us.

well egotisitical is a human word for it. god is not on our level. we believe that god is the creator of all and created by none. when you want a pay check you have to work for it. god does not say you have to worship god but god does say that gids expectations are to worship god. god is niether man nor woman, beyond our comprehention. god gave us free will to do in our life time which ever we please. we have the choice to except god or deny god. you can think of it this way if you do not work you do not get paid. even if some one else is supporting you some where along the line some one has worked to provide you with what you need. if we do not do what is asked of god then we do not deserve gods reward. if you have children and your children disobey you you punish them right? same thing with god. people create animals in labs (test tubes) for science experiments. then what do they do some kill people end up killing their science experiments. they have lives. it does not hurt them for killing these animals right. same difference. god is our creator and does what ever god wants to do.

Man himself in many instances demonstrates the desire to be worshiped and adored. Do you really think actors are in the business PURELY for the art? Do you think rock singers and other performers are in it purely for their art? Art, skill and craft no doubt plays a part - but the inward need for adoration from the masses is there.
On a Non Major Ego level...,
Who doesn't appreciate being appreciated? Who doesn't want to be respected? And you expect God to be.... what?
A father wants to be respected by his children. Sometimes a boss who is not an egocentric power made jerk, would like to be respected. and its always great when we are shown respect and dignity for the efforts we go through in life.
A mother who endures much for her children and her husband also needs respect. Not because if insecurity reasons as some would suppose - but its earned! They earn the respect.
God requires not only respect, honor and homage to himself, but he expects us to respect and honor our parents, our leaders, and so on. Its not just a "Me-me - me" persona - although he made us, we owe him more than most are willing to acknowledge.
If God were egocentric - he made all things, including you. That alone would justify things. When you are god then you can run the show. Oh but wait! Thats already been tried and Satan got his butt kicked for his own ego trip.
So I submit that you are on your own ego trip, placing more value on your ego than on God, the creator of all things who holds your very life in the palm of his hand.

Arrogance. You are an ant on an ant farm to amuse god. Are you a red ant or black ant? I liked the fire red ants that were smaller and had spirit and destroyed the big bumbling black ants that were six times their size. That is how god looks at you. The more you amuse him the better you are liked. Whether for bad or good you are here for entertainment. Not an interaction or a gesture of love. You are fodder for god's boredom.

1-You need to know that God created us, so he is not in need for us, but we are in need for him.
2- He didn't created us to find out that there is a God, but he created us to worship him. When the prophet Muhammad came, his people knew that there is a God, the creator. But in worship they think that others have power and can interceed for them and answer their prayers and save them, because they think that they are not pure to ask God directely and they need an intermediary , an intercessor for that.
Since they believe that God is everywhere and God in ourselves, so it is so easy to claim that somebody is God or son of God or God in the stones, in a statue, or worship a prophet, a saint or an angel because they are close to God in their belief.
They become polytheists, making many new gods.
3-If God is all knowing, why :a/ he will die for our sins?
b/ he will come in the flesh?
c/ he can't forgive?
a non biased mind will know clearly that this can't be.
4-If you live a good life that is conform to his commands, and do good and forbid evil,that will please him, and he will shower on you his mercy in this life and in the life after.
that means that you start worshiping him correctely. that's what the message of Islam is << there is no deity that has the right to be worshiped but God only, nobody has power but God only, there is no God but God >>
When you understand the concept of God and learn about Islam, you will understand the following things:
1-God created Adam from clay, with no mother, no father.
2- God already , by his wisdom and forknowledge , knew already who is going to hell or heaven before even creating them. so when he created them, he created the one for hell and for heaven with no oppression or injustice toward them.
3- God created the Pen which wrote all what will happen in this life for everybody of us, for anything living on earth like trees, any leaf of tree that drop, any drop of water..... nothing can happend in this life contrary to what is written on the protected book or contrary of what God decreed by his foreknowledge.
If an earthqake happen, don't think that God didn't know that it will happen, because the earth can't move only by his will, and only by what God decreed, then any lost of life is already known, God knows the time, the state and where the body would die..
don't think that God is busy with us.
when the tsunami happened, don't think that God was not knowing about that, and that he was busy in taking the souls, because this work is the work of the angels of death. there is angels for rain, for the wind.......and no angel can do something extra from himself, only what God ordain him to do, or only what is written for us.
I say that, because I am surprised from people who say, that an angel visited him, and talked to him, or Jesus came to him...... This is total imagination or this is the work of devils or satan.
Yes devils are our enemies, specialy satan(s).
God created the angels first, from light.
God created the devils second. from fire.
God created man from clay.
I am surprised how can satan be a fallen angel.
the angels have no will, they obey and worship God only.
devils and mankind have a will, we obey and desobey.
we have angels on our 2 sides, one on the right which write the good deeds. and one on the left side which write the bad deeds.
Who ever claim that we will not be accountable for our deeds, actions, or work is realy ignorrant of the true message of God.
God is one, nothing is like him, God is not in need of us. God knows the past the present the future. God doen't need a son, or to come to die for us. God is most powerful. God can forgive. God is just punishes the wrong doers, and reconpense the good doers.
God has the best attributes, that are perfect to him.
wwhen we say God is powerful, we understand it the way the prophet told us and the way it is in the Quran. If we see the creation, we feel the power of God. some Christians and others claim that God is powerful that's why he came in the flesh. if So, how about God the knower of the future and the unseen. si If he knew that his son will be killed then Why he sent him to be killed.
If so, why If God is most forgiving, God can't forgine ONLY if somebody has to pay the price, like Christians claim?. Then, why God most merciful created us for?
Why they are complicating things.
Jews think that they are chosen, and if you don't have jew's blood you are lost. then Why God created us.
Christians claim that if you don't believe that God died for our sins, then you are lost. So why he kept sending prophets after prophets all this time. God is most just, he doesn't oppress people or put them in hell fire for things they can't bear. Is the people before Jesus will go to hell?
the concept of God is one, can't change, is the same. the prove, the teachings of the prophet Muhammad, which is conform to the other teachings before Jesus came.
Conclusion, the concept of God has been altered with the Christians, the prove >>ask the Jews.

Well I see your point,but honestly I don't believe God "needs" our worship.For example a father doesn't necessarily needs his son to appreciate him and know that he's there for him he's independent of what his son think,but it can help this son if he appreciates him and know he is there for him.
