I am going to be a bit nit-picky here. Technically a Nun is a member of a contemplative order (like the Benedictines or Carmelites) and lives in a Monastery. A Sister is a member of a Mendicant order (like the Dominicans) and lives in a convent or house with a small group of other Sisters. Many people lump them both together under the title of Nun, but that is not correct.

Now a days the Nuns in my area live in ordinary houses. The Convent was sold.

No. Since Vatican II so much has changed in the Catholic Church and with religious life. Most contemplative Sisters (nuns) still live in convents. Many active Sisters live in convents, but many do not.
