mp3 songs are in the knownledge of everyone but sometime trasferring it to a mobile device takes to much memory space. so without cutting the songs is it possible to reduce the size to less than 1mb.

mp3 are already zipped with the help of an algorithm (Huffman) to occupy less space than any other formats. so you can't further reduce the size of the mp3 audio files. but if you want to carry somewhere without playing then you may go for a zip the whole collection.

i think ur ipode needs to be reformatted. In the menu if there is an option to reformat the unit. Use that format. do try more than single time. if not then i think some bad sectors r there in ur ipode memory. & such problem is quite difficult to trouble shoot.

Guess, the only way would be to increase your phone memory!! Not that expensive nowadays!
