Well I know you wanted to know the calorie count, but maybe this will come in handy lol ..... I lost 30 pounds in 3 and 1/2 months, and all I did was loose ALL sweets and snacks.... a protein bar for breakfast ( that was just because i'm a picky breakfast eater, and I wouldn't eat anything else lol ) then I ate whatever I wanted for lunch and dinner, even pasta, it's the sweets and snacking that are the worst, so that's what I got rid of, well it worked great for me, so I hope you give it a try ! Oh by the way, this plan requires no exercise !!!! That might be a plus ....

I think a good rule is to lose 1 lbs a week.
You have to watch your weight for ever - so don't think of any deadline. Just work you way to the weight. It will take some time - and keep your weight when you get there.
Only rule about how much to use more energy than you eat. This is very personal, but there are a lot of good physical activity diaries and food diaries that can help you to monitor you energy balance. (There are also some good devices to monitor how much you really use. You use energy all the time - so it's not only doing exercises. This makes it a little more difficult to evaluate and know when you are really loosing weight or just loosing wather from your body.)

Don't eat less than 1200 calories a day. You need that amount to get proper nutrition.
20 lbs by April is pushing it. Do it safely. And keep up the good work with the exercise.

Ignore these people telling you not to eat, you are not seriously overweight and you don't want to gain weight by putting your body into starvation mode. If you want to lose weight you will need to exercise a lot more. Try daily walks (long ones), go to a gym, swimming is a good low impact high effect workout. Rather than worrying about what goes into your body you need to think about how much energy you are burning. If you break down how much weight you want to lose, then calculate how much fat you need to burn each day. How much energy is that? According to my source a gram of fat is about 10 calories. So if you go to a gym they have these counters on some equipment which tells you how many calories you are burning. If you knew you wanted to burn 50 calories a day you could monitor how much this took and see if you were on track. My only other comment is ... how much water? If you are exercising and sweating it out this is fine. Otherwise you may be adding water weight to your body. Good luck with the prom, remember it is only one night. Exam results are forever. :)

The average, healthy caloric intake for women is 2,000 - 2,100 per day and should never drop below 1,200 per day.
I also recommend Weight Watchers. I joined the online program in November and I've lost 18 lbs with no exercise.
