The link below is to a site that has six different recipes. None are difficult to make. I think my mom made the cornstarch type. I know that we could dry and paint our play dough sculptures. (We used to have dinosaur fights.) The one I used to make was a lot like the Traditional Play Dough. Some of the types are edible, some have lots of salt specifically to keep the kids from eating the play dough. (I personally don't like to have the kids eat it after they've been playing with it!)

The easiest is MisterRogers' Easy Play Dough:

Mister Rogers' Easy Play Dough

2 cups flour
1 cup water

Mix together well. You can put dry Kool-Aid or Jell-O in the mix if you want colored dough.

I've never used this one, so I don't know how it is, if it dries out easily or stores well.

I've tried 3 i like this one the best ; / 1 cup of salt / 1 1/4 cups water/ 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 3 cups all purpose flour (not self rising ) 2 tablespoons corn starch / food coloring
in a large bowl mix salt ,water and vegetable oil continue mixing while adding flour and corn starch / knead until smooth if dough seems sticky add a little flour / if dry add a little water
divide into lump's add a few drops of food coloring to each lump knead ( put in air tight containers or zip lock bag's it's just like play dough !!!
