We have our 14 wk. old boxer/shepherd mix (male). I just recently added 2 foster pups that are about 12 wks, they are shepherd/lab mixes (1 female, 1 male). Our pup is constantly biting at them, and seems to be a bit obsessed with em. Follows them, bites their legs, takes "his" toys away from them. Not to mention, he's much rougher with the smaller one (female).
My question is, should I leave them to work it out, or should I step in and correct his biting at them? It seems like he wants to play (his tail wags, but his ears are back and he barks at them).

I have noticed about a week after we had him, that he isnt afraid of barking at other dogs (bigger), and that is how I decided for the most part being a foster would be a good idea, letting him interact more with pups/dogs at my home.

How should I handle this?

He is establishing dominance over them. Tell him no when he does it and make him submit by rolling him on his back this tells him you are dominant not him. Its not mean contrary to people's belief that is how it works in a pack. I have three dogs and when i introduced my first to the second my first was mean to the second. When i got my third i had her submit in front of the two and had them submit also and there were no problems after that he needs to learn he isn't better then them

ok i am going to invite an straightforward question. Why do you've 3 completely seperate breeds of pups, that dont have there eyes open yet, napping in a basket? What got here about to each and each and every of the moms? they're huddling for warm temperature, convenience, stability, and the actual incontrovertible truth that they are remote from there moms at too youthful an age. in the experience that they were uncomfortable they'll flow, dont worry, enable them have this contact now they pick it better than you may ever comprehend. Dont seperate them.

Remember that tail wagging is not always a sign of friendliness! I would gently take him by the collar when he starts to bother the other dogs. Don't sit back and hope that it gets better - because if it does not, you may have a huge problem on your hands. Just gently take his collar and redirect. Also, don't give your dogs an excuse to be resource guarding - feed them and give them chewies in their crates only.

You should never allow one dog to exhibit aggression towards another dog. The obsessive behavior is also very bad and should be nipped. You should discipline him him for this behavior - if you don't, his aggression can spread to humans. I agree with the poster above - watch Cesar Milan (my personal hero) his show is called "The Dog Whisperer", or you can check out his website:

Leave them alone. They have to work out who will be the dominant dog.

dog training,,,,,, shepherds are from the Herding group,,, it is instinctual for your shepherd mix to want to nip and herd the others..... correct the bad behavior,,, have them all spayed/neutered
