Scores killed in Baghdad market blast: STEVEN HURST, Associated Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide bomber driving a truck loaded with a ton of explosives hidden beneath cooking oil, canned food and bags of flour obliterated a Baghdad food market on Saturday, killing at least 124 people in one of the most fearsome attacks in the capital since the U.S. invasion in 2003.

However, Bush said it's OK and to be expected. We are winning Bush says.

It was the fifth major bombing in less than a month targeting predominantly Shiite districts in Baghdad and one provincial city to the south. This one leveled about 30 shops and 40 houses, witnesses said. President Bush requested the USA people to stand by his plan and we will show the enemy we mean business.

I know what i have done there and im damn sure proud of it. If you havent been there and see how happy the people were when Saddam was driven out of power. You would have been proud to take part of the Liberation. Then on my second deployment when we fought Sadr's Militia , the people were pretty happy that we made there city a safe place. They were pretty happy about the 3 schools and 2 hospitals that were put up in Najaf as well. But you did not know about it because you and most people beleive everything, and i mean everything the news says. They never show the good the troops are doing over there. Also taking part in the countries first vote and watching the people come to the voting booths even though the threat of them getting blown up was high.
How many other bombings where there in Iraq? Most of the country is secure, and people who dont want us/ or the iraqi government to succeed are Blowing themselves up along with the iraqi civilians. Mainly in Baghdad.

Another post by erudite... another bunch of complete fabrications and lies added to a copyrighted article... the typical M.O. of this disgusting propagandist

let us list the fabrications:
"However, Bush said it's OK and to be expected. We are winning Bush says.".... yet another feeble attempt to skew the story to his warped little agenda...

Because I watched people vote in their first election in decades during my first tour in Iraq, and I'm probably going to get to see more things like that if I get mobilized with President Bush's new plan to send more troops. Plus, I know the sacrifice all of the US servicemen have had to endure for a people that attack us on a daily basis.

I said this yesterday and will say it again.

About 90% of all the bad stuff you see in Iraq happens within a 50 mile radius of the East side of Baghdad. 21,500 more soldiers will help knock out some of this bombing because we'll be able to get soldiers on the beat to prevent this kind of thing.

I have to say that I AM proud of the Iraq war. What you are seeing in the news is not always reality in that we have reduced the violence, for the most part, to a very small area. Every place else in Iraq is getting better. There are even places in Baghdad that have improved drastically. We are winning. I am personally seeing that victory happen.

I'm glad to be a part of this.

Yes, I am proud. Mostly because my husband is currently there and I am so proud of what he is doing for the people over there. Yes, there are innocent lives being taken, but honestly, how many would be taken if we never went? If we wouldnt have invaded in 2003, we would have eventually. Everyone knows that.

I agree with the fact that Saddam Husseing needed to be taken out. Allthough, I am not happy that things have turned out as they have....what most people have forgotten is that this is in fact a WAR. people die, that's how it works. I am in fact PROUD or our troops, I stand for them, I do not use up my time and try and beat them down as you are doing. I think it is futile and anti-progressive. Troops need our support. not our negativity. It can be very disheartening to think that our own family and friends have deserted us. Things that happen like this article and other propagand in the news bring down troop morale. It is distracting and extremely dangerous. No doubt more American soldiers have died because of not having their heads in the game with the thought of their moms, dads, sisters and brothers making all this noise about how this is a losing war
Yeah, great philosophy, "Hey all you troops we support you and we are proud of you and its a great effort that you are putting up......too bad your going to lose"
I say this: "screw a**holes like this guy. don't listen to them, keep doing what you gotta do, we love you and we are with you all the way"

I am NOT proud of the Iraq war. I am confounded as to what our gov't hopes to accomplish there at this point. It's time to bring our troops home and let Iraq take care of itself. The warring religious factions weren't killing each other when Saddam was in control; in retrospect, he kept a tight reign on those crazy people. Then we come in and "free" everyone, and it's murder and mayhem. And time for our soldiers to get out of the crossfire. We are not winning. We are spinning our wheels with American blood. And that, people, is the opinion of a conservative Republican, so don't automatically assume all Republicans are happy with our President.

we have to stay in Iraq our goal is to bring the democracy and the liberty for iraqs civilians. sunni and shiia wish to live in peace but some ******* insurgents and millitia hope to distroy it. I'm not proud of what has happened and happening now I am not proud that thousands of troops and hundreds of thousands of civilians killed but this is the price for the better life that these people deserve. I stand by US Presidents plan.

No one should ever be proud of WAR. You are presumptuous and rude to think that anyone is. I am proud of every person serving in Iraq and across the globe to show how they trust in the Commander and Chief to do what is right and not allow terrorism to flourish. I am proud of everyone who follows orders without question and thusly saving lives of countless innocent people here in the USA and our neighbors. I proudly served in the Armed Forces and know of the sacrifices these people are making to ensure you are permitted to make this inquiry. Are you as proud of your ignorance as I am of this Country?
