(Insert deity here) is not necessary, but for many it is a way to relieve the fear of the unknown. Like death, life, and evil. It, (insert deity here), is also a way to allow a person to escape the fact that on a cosmic scale we are all completely insignificant and unnecessary to the universe. (Insert deity here) is probably most importantly a way to feel, by electism, superior to others. The exclusivity of any religion, is the most important feature. Every religion depends on fear of the "other". This is called xenophobia.
I suggest that it will be several millennia before (insert deity here) will become socially unnecessary.

God symbolizes peace, love and compassion. This is what people want to worship, but somehow throughout history these absolutes were given humanistic qualities. Probably because someone wanted to use god and religion to fulfill their own selfish needs. So it is not stupid to believe in god as long as you understand that its not about religion, or how many times you read the bible, or how many times you go to church in one week. Its about what kind of person you are. If you have a pure heart then it does not matter what you worship or if you worship at all. God and goodness are separate from each other, you can have one without the other. Somehow this seems to escape many religious people and I don't understand why.

I am a self-read Christian. Which means I follow Jesus' instructions and teachings.
I believe this about that:
Regardless of religion or non religion. Harmony is harmony, and disharmony is the only sin against God.
This Earth just recently reached the 6 Billion mark. Wherever a person is, New York City or in the Amazon Jungle, he has the free will to choose harmony or disharmony. If he chooses harmony as a way of life he will make a good neighbor in Heaven. If he choose disharmony as a way of life, I don't know what will happen to him.

You must be very intelligent and wise to know this as fact, because Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, Pascal, and a few other of the greatest minds in the history of man believed in God.
And by the way, if you put the Biblical account of how the universe came about, and you put the scientific account beside it, the similarities are obvious.
Science without Religion is lame. Religion without Science is blind. - Albert Einstein

Critics of Christianity are turning out to be further and extra obtrusive lately. it truly is in part because there truly are lots of those who do no longer trust in God, or comprehend the reality about Him, in any respect. yet, the straightforward swell in anti-Christians is likewise by way of theory. As with many topics, those who extremely despise Christianity are the loudest and maximum vocal of the non-believers. the overall public of those who do no longer trust don’t extremely care adequate to annoy believers. The few indignant, vocal, bitter unbelievers make adequate noise to seem extra distinct than they're. even as they could't discredit the fellow's conception, then they'll attack the fellow. the common insult from the non-non secular crowd is to envision with believers as “ignorant,” “stupid,” “brainwashed,” or otherwise recommend that those who've faith are a lot less smart than those who do no longer. even as a Christian places up a sturdy strive against, through status up intelligently for his faith, the words change to “bigot,” “extremist,” or “zealot.” even as those who comprehend that believer is form and loving hear this, the loud-mouthed atheist begins to appear like the fool that he or she is (Psalm fifty 3:a million). maximum non-believers have not had personal motives to make certain Christians negatively, yet they each and every from time to time hear a lot from the loud anti-Christians that they only anticipate that is so. they pick examples of Christ-like dwelling to make certain the reality.

Okay I'm a Chrisitian, but I do believe that you just attacked more faiths than just mine. "God" doesn't just mean the Christian's version of God. There are so many more cultures who have thier own beliefs and thier own god. Why attack something that so many people believe in? this is something that keeps people looking forward to every day. No matter what religion. Keep your opinions to yourself. If you attack Christians, it's one thing. It's just one religion. But now you have attacked all of them. That can't go over well.....

first how come evolution is not continuing
second Jesus Christ came born of a virgin, was tormented mocked beaten beyond recognition and crucified ,and resurrected, all so that we could be forgiven of our sins so that we can live eternally in Heaven. What do these other gods have to offer,I'll tell you,a eternity in Hell!Look I tell you these things with compassion not anger and my only suggetion to you is to search it out in your heart, visit some churches. What is that really going to hurt? One day you will find out, will you be right or will you be wrong and if your wrong will it be to late. And by my beliefs it will be to late and your only destiny by that time will be an eternity in Hell.I pray that you find your answer and please reply and tell me your thoughts.

They believe in God because they cannot accept the idea that the whole purpose of their life is to procreate just like lowly germs and viruses (dogs, too) do.
They want to find a better reason for their life, and for this they look answers in the area way beyond their logic, that is in dreamscapes of religion and fantasy.
We are humans, and we all want to look better, be different, and feel special. Right?

Just because one "religion" doesn't do it for you is not a valid reason to cancel out a belief in God. Research them all, then come back and report your findings. I don't deny evolution, but I believe God and evolution can co-exist.
