Depends on their build, gender, and height. With the limited information you gave me, I could say "yes." The majority of the guys in my weight lifting class (who are 15) are 150 - 160. However, I sit at a mere 120, being 16.

Give me your height, gender, and build, and I can give you a better answer.

Being 5' 3", you may be a touch heavy. However, if your frame is large, you'd be fine.

I am also 15 years old. A normal, healthy weight for a 15 yr. old depends on height, gender, and bone structure. If you are taller, it is obvious that you should weigh more. Also, females often have a higher amount of body fat and a lower amount of muscle than males so this also affects weight. The best thing you can do is go to your doctor's office and find out if your weight is healthy for your height, gender, etc. Lastly, don't focus as much on how much you wiegh, focus on eating healthy foods and having an active lifestyle.

For the most part, I'd have to say that is 10lb-20lb overweight for your age/height. But you may have a large build or are you quite athletic? If you have your body fat percentage checked, you can find out whether you need to lose weight or not. It's really hard to know from just your description. You could be 150lb-160lb with 15% body fat or you could be 150lb-160lb with 25% body fat. There is a big difference!

For a 15 year old male, ideally you want to have between 10% and 18% body fat.

HTH : )

I would say yes. When I was 15 I weighed under 100 lbs at that time but most of my friends were around the 150-170 lbs area.

"normal" is a misnomer. There is an AVERAGE, but that doesn't mean that you're unhealthy. How big is your frame? Do you have noticeable patches of fat on your body? Do some men in your family put on a bit of weight before a growth spurt?

I would suggest consulting with your doctor or a local gym to see if you are at a healthy body weight.

total bodyweight is insignificant, it's how much body fat you have. unless you are carrying some extra muscle at 5'3 and 150-160 lbs you could probably drop some body fat for sure.

I would not restrict calories but rather change the types of foods that you are consuming and increase the level of daily activity.
