ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder, which is another term for the more commonly diagnosed condition, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In very general terms, people with ADHD/ADD are not able to pay attention or stay focused for a reasonable amount of time. They are often forgetful and if you have ever talked to one, you might feel as if that person has not paid attention to one single thing you've said. Their concentration is poor and they are often unable to do multiple things at the same time - like a walk and chew gum (which is not an exaggeration). Many are very hyper and just can't seem to sit still. They fidget alot in their chair or they are constantly doing something with their hands. They often make very poor grades in school because they are not able to sufficiently pay attention, but they tend to be of average or above average intelligence. They also tend to be very creative. There are a greater number of ADHD's in sports than there are in the general population. Many are good athletes, musicians, and artists. For more information go to the CHAD website.
